New Magnesium Discovery: Anti-inflammatory benefits
Minerallifeonline ^

Of all the minerals, magnesium has always been close to my heart – in more ways than one. Magnesium is truly a wonder mineral

While people might be aware of the power of this mineral, there is now scientific evidence that takes magnesium to a new level.

A study was conducted on more than 3700 women who were post menopausal. The results were astounding in that it was revealed that magnesium has incredible anti-inflammatory properties.

This is great news for people like you and I who are health-conscious and do not wish to depend upon harmful medications to reveal inflammatory-related pain.

They also noticed that inflammation on the artery walls was minimized in patients who increased their magnesium intake.

People who suffer from heart disease will welcome this news as this makes it harder for plaque to settle on the arterial walls. It is this plaque that causes narrowing in the arteries and ultimately leads to coronary artery disease and other heart ailments. Magnesium helps to improve circulation in the body, and this prevents plaque formation as well

Today, many of us eat take out foods and processed foods on a daily basis, and these have less than adequate mineral content. Most of the food that we eat is robbed of minerals due to modern farming practices. Farmers keep reusing the soil to grow crops, and this robs the soil of minerals. Our food is below adequate when it comes to nutritional values.

It is a sure bet that there are more people suffering with inflammatory conditions today than might have been the case one hundred years ago. Likewise, heart disease is more prevalent now than ever before. People spend millions of dollars each year on anti-inflammatory medications

Apart from the fact that they are costly, they are also harmful if used on a long-term basis. Many of these medications actually perpetuate the situation and offer no long-term solution to the problem. One way to get around this problem is to combine healthy eating with a quality liquid ionic magnesium supplement.

Even if you are healthy at this point in time, it is wise to take a ‘prevention is better than cure’ attitude to life.

By looking after your health now, you stand a good chance of ageing healthily free from pain and many other ailments. Parents should teach their children from a young age about good nutrition and the importance of correct mineral and vitamin supplementation, with magnesium in particular. This way, future generations will live longer, healthier and more productive lives.

“I’m going to give some basic magnesium supplements a try.”

A magnesium soak in the tub will make a big difference, and doing so just before going to bed could help you get a really good night’s sleep.

Angstrom Magnesium

Oral magnesium supplements do very little to raise your magnesium levels. I have tried transdermal magnesium and not had very good luck with it - it's oily and irritating to the skin. The angstrom magnesium, on the other hand, has been a miracle....my provider suggested 1 T twice a day. It tastes terrible, so I put it in a slug of chocolate coconut milk.

Angstrom minerals go right into your bloodstream, so there's not the gastric issues that other magnesium supplements can cause. This stuff has been life-changing.

My source is a bit cheaper than this....freepmail me and I will send you the website.

I believe the ionic forms of magnesium are easily absorbable.

Magnesium Chloride, Magnesium Citrate, Magnesium Ascorbate, Magnesium Acetate, Magnesium Sulfate (epsom salts).

But Magnesium Oxide, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Magnesium Carbonate will go through you like stuff through a goose!!

Not a diuretic... more like a diarhetic!!

Up To 80% of Americans Are Magnesium Deficient... Are You?
- Print ThisPrint This

Magnesium deficiency is running rampant among Americans. One study sponsored by the National Institutes of Health shows that 68% of Americans are magnesium deficient.1 Other experts put the number closer 80%.2

Data from the 1999-2000 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey suggest that substantial numbers of adults in the U.S. don’t get even the minimal amounts of magnesium recommended.

Of all the minerals required for good health, calcium has been pushed into the spotlight. There has been a flood of calcium-fortified foods, beverages, and supplements. Ironically, without magnesium, calcium cannot be properly used or absorbed by the body.

I seem to remember somewhere that soft drinks (specifically colas) deplete magnesium. Anyone else hear that?

I haven’t heard they do anything specific with Magnesium, but I have heard over and over that the phosphoric acid in sodas plays hell with body chemistry.

Put an iron nail in a can of coke some time and have the kids count the days till it’s totally gone...

How do you choke down 2oz of vinegar with half a teaspoon of Milk of Magnesia? that would be pretty rough.

Not if you stir it good.

The Magnesium Oxide neutralizes the vinegar acidity.

At first, it will appear milky or cloudy.

As you stir, it will become clearer and clearer.

Strangely enough, it has an oddly sweet taste to it!

If you can handle a glass of Cabernet, this should be no problem for you...

Searching the Net for information on magnesium and inflammation (I wondered if it would help the inflammation of a goitre if I applied it "directly"), I happened upon this post. I've been using transdermal magnesium from these folks for years (awesome product!), and prior to that I was using Peter Gillham's Natural Calm (a powder that needs mixing with water and is taken orally), which I thought was very good too (but not quite as good as Ancient Minerals). PGNC, for those interested, can be easily picked up at health food stores.

Lots of great info on this thread... I hope many have tried magnesium after you posted it!
