Hi. I'm America. I've decided enough is enough. This is my opus.
You know, I've been on this continent for about 236 years. I've had some really great moderators (George Washington, Ronald Reagan, Thomas Jefferson) and some really awful ones (Jimmy Carter, Lyndon Johnson, Woodrow Wilson).
But I just cannot take the administration that is currently in power. This Obama, or as I like to call him, OTrauma.... he's killing me. He's killing me and he's doing it on purpose. At this rate, if he is given another term, I'm dead!
Not that the opposition is much better. I saw a bumper sticker recently, it was a campaign-style political one. It said "Mitt Romney. Meh." Mitt will forstall my death by a few years, but he's sure no cure.
And no matter who is elected, it seems like I'm seeing more drones, more TSA crotch groping, more monitoring and surveillance of my people. I'm seeing my people's rights diminished daily -- why, just the other day, I saw the Supreme Court rule it was permissable to force people to buy a product or service. WTF? This is NOT who I am!!!! Taxes look to skyrocket and the left is still coming after my people's guns. I am seeing things go more socialist and communist every day.
So I guess I am outta here. I am no longer going to sit around on this continent. Not sure where I am going yet, but I guarentee you, the spark of my freedom will take hold somewhere. Y'all can keep your USSA.
So, this is America, signing off.
Good times and fond memories! :-D
Back then, nobody could have imagined that we were in for a lot worse than Bill Clinton. *sigh*
Why?
Who?
When?
What Now?
Should I read this entire opus? I hate to read, and it looks long.. Do I really want to know the details of this tragedy, and what could I do about it, when it isn't going to do any good, if he has already made up His Mind..
WAIT a friggin minute.... What mind?..... :)
Now those are some bumps.....
1st of all, where's there to go?
Second of all, there is no way I'd miss the upcoming "battle" as it portends to be a beaut: "Lock and Load!"
Remember these great Americans?"
"I have not yet begun to fight": John Paul Jones
"Damn the torpedoes, Full speed ahead!" Admiral David Glasgow Farragut
"I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country." Nathan Hale
"Better to fight for something than live for nothing." Gen George Patton
And that which I live by:
"I would rather die on my feet, than live on my knees" (Attributed to) George Washington
Yep, I have fondle memories of her....
Funny!
But sad, as it’s all too true.
Thanks, Laz
Heh.
Me gusta.
I'll just sit here on the porch with a rifle across my knees and a cooler full of cold beer to welcome her when she does.
The old gal's just a little tired now, but she's got plenty of fight left in her yet.
Hope she brings more ice, though.
Seriesly bump
Indeed!
LAZ OPUS POPCORN
Ingredients
3 tablespoons peanut oil
3 ounces popcorn kernels, approximately 1/2 cup
1/2 teaspoon popcorn salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
Directions
Place the oil, popcorn and salt in a large, 6-quart, metal mixing bowl. Cover with heavy-duty aluminum foil and poke 10 slits in the top with a knife.
Place the bowl over medium heat and shake constantly using a pair of tongs to hold the bowl. Continue shaking until the popcorn finishes popping, approximately 3 minutes.
Remove the bowl from the heat and carefully remove the foil. Stir in any salt that is on the side of the bowl.
Melt the butter in the microwave. Slowly drizzle over the popcorn, while spinning the bowl. Serve immediately.
And me too! His freepathons go on too long, he kicks people off the site without warning, and...
“Hey Santa.”
Hmmmm. ‘Kay, Gee, you’ve got the wrong Kris. You want to go here:
But, Gee whiz, others have made the same mistake so it’s o ‘Kay.
Kriskrinkle :)
That was kinda fun, but she ain’t leaving, she’s being torn apart while we sit at our keyboards and watch.
“Why grampa, why did you let it happen?” The thought of someday hearing those words haunt me.
In the not-too-distant future, we may find it very difficult to look into the eyes of our grandchildren.
Good one, Laz!
