As a youthful reader of “Tiger Beat,” the movie/pop star magazine for teens, I can remember Sonny & Cher being a most conservative duo. I can still recall the photo of them going to meet the pope: Sonny wearing a suit and Cher swaddled in a black mantilla. O, how times have changed.
