The Smart Bed features an automatic system that is activated three seconds after the last person gets out of the bed.
Mechanical arms extend on each of the sides to grab the edges of the duvet, while a set of rollers slowly smooth down the bed. At the same time levers then lift and straighten the pillows.
The entire process takes less than a minute...

spain has finally contributed to western civilization.
calling that a “self making bed” gives it a good bit more credit than it deserves. it’s more of an “automatic blanket straightener”,

ROFLMTO...imagine every man or woman who has to go to bathroom every two hours at night coming back to a made bed, and having to start over...not such a good thing.

Don’t the Spanish sleep with a top sheet or blankets?

I’ve never understood the fetish for making beds. Leave em, you’re just gonna mess it all up when you get back in anyway.

Yep, no one sees the damn thing anyway. As long as everything is clean it can stay messed up.

Generally they use a top sheet, although there are people who use only the duvet or perhaps a blanket. I think the principle of this device, however, is to cover up everything with the duvet.
That said, I can hardly wait until they’re commercially available. Although I’m not sure something with mechanical arms would be much of a fashion accent for my room...

Sounds pretty hideous doesn’t it? What if someone accidentally pushed the button/Obama thingamajigee in the middle of the night?
I’m one of those on the side of bedmakers. I won’t leave the house until the bed is made.
