I have to have an ultrasound of my gallbladder in the morning. Tonight I can only eat fruits and vegetables. WebMD said to eat fat free meal. I was wondering if potato is considered a vegetable and would be safe to eat in some soup? I have found conflicting things on the internet.
Thanks for your help.
Ok, thanks. I’ll avoid it.
Does that mean a carrot is not a vegetable? It is also a root. I’ve been told it’s a root vegetable. As are radishes and onions.
Any way you slice it, that sounds like a good idea.
I’V HEARD BEET JUICE WORKS WELL TOO.
Buy Bragg’s brand ACV. To me, it tastes fantastic. Mix about a TBSP in 4-8 oz of room temp water and drink it. Do it 2-3 times a day until you get relief and then drink it every day.
I also recommend taking magnesium glycinate as it will dissolve stones.
See #26. Only Bragg’s brand and drink it in water. You can sip it all day or drink it down.
I Had my gall bladder removed in 1990. Best thing ever! I have been eating everything including fatty foods such as Pizza, cheeseburgers, etc. and have zero problems. However I have learned to avoid huge portions. The pain of gall bladder attacks was horrible and so happy no more attacks.
From what I have read, the bile duct takes over the function of gall bladder. And it is possible for stones to reappear in the bile duct. Eating lot of vegetables is helpful, especially non-acidic type such as zucchini & okra. I like the suggestion of apple-cider-vinegar also.
Welcome to the world of healthcare and medicine, where most involved in that industry agree on little of anything.
Go ahead and eat the potatoes, as recent studies say they are good for you.
But do it fast, as new studies suggest they cause enlargement of the drool gland and bloat cells. In fact, the new study to be release next week indicates just looking at a potato can cause drool gland enlargement, in some cases.
Admitted, I am not a botonist.
I’ve had several ultrasounds of my gallbladder, and no one ever told me to avoid potatoes or any starches before the test. As long as you don’t eat something with fat in it. BTW...gallbladder has been removed since then.
I’m glad to hear it helped you. I’m not so certain that is what is causing my stomach problems, but if it is, I’ll gladly get it removed.
If FR had a like button I would click it!
No need to remove gall bladder unless a proper diagnosis is done first. It is a serious surgery after all.
I have had all kinds of stomach issues, so have first hand experience. Not meaning to pry but what are some of your symptoms?
I used to have heartburn. A couple of weeks of a shot in the morning and evening, and I haven't had so much as a burp.
It has to be apple cider vinegar with the mother. Braggs is a good brand.

I do the Bragg’s, too. 1 Tbs. in 8 oz. water. But I “sip” it with a straw, bypassing my teeth, as cider vinegar can be harmful to teeth over a period of time. And Bragg’s isn’t nasty tasting compared with the filtered stuff.
Thank you
Sulfur containing vegetables also help with the gall bladder, such as broccoli, cabbage, and artichokes.
