Those of us of a certain age will remember the cheeky-faced young man who burst onto our screens and encouraged us all to ditch school for the day.
Now, almost three decades on, that irresistible truant Ferris Bueller, the sausage king of Chicago, is back - and this time he's taking a day off work.
Matthew Broderick is set to reprise his most famous role after a ten-second clip was posted on YouTube, showing the actor, now 49, acting a famous line from the 1986 film - with a 2012 twist.

Now I’m reading in the comments it’s most like a commercial during Super Bowl. Oh well.
Sadly, it's not a sequel. It's going to be a Honda commercial.
If they make a sequel Principal Rooney won’t be in it as he is now a registered sex offender.
On second thought, that would make him a hero in Hollywood.
And turn it way up to drown out his liberal ranting and raving.
I’m upset they never did Ferris Bueller Goes to College
I wanted to see Bueller on Spring Break at College.
Bueller goes AWOL in the Gulf War, Bueller runs for Congress, Bueller on Vacation. This could have been better than Andy Rooney—
Who will play the part of Jeanie Bueller, since Jennifer Grey
has a different face ??
Bone structure. Can’t build a nice house without a proper frame.
Love her hair on the right as well.
“... missing some of my favorite 80’s films”
I do as well. I really like “The Breakfast Club”... but I don’t think a remake would ever be quite the same. IMHO.
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
On second thought, that would make him a hero in Hollywood.
Looking at his IMDB page, it doesn't appear Jeffrey Jones had trouble finding work since his 2002 arrest and subsequent "no contest" plea.
I imagine that for most of us, our future employment prospects would be pretty dim. Not in Hollywood where they seem pretty quick to forgive kiddy-diddling (and in Roman Polanski's case, award him with an Oscar).
I guess I must be the only person in the world who found Ferris Bueller “resistible.” I thought the character was dishonest, manipulative, smarmy, and treated his friend like sh*t. In a real high school in the real world, that kid would have had his ass kicked on a daily basis.
John Hughes talked about the fact that he was not supposed to be a virtuous or even an all around likable character.
Good grief! Lovely woman, but the hair on the right-—gah!
I don’t get the current trend of straw-like, plastered-together hair that looks like a pet dog chewed it off.
You aren’t the only one who thinks that. Cameron should have beat the hell out of him after destroying that (thankfully a replica) Ferrari even though Cameron was the one who kicked it in the end. If I see it on the program guide, I think the same thing every time.
