A teenage girl who has eaten almost nothing else apart from chicken nuggets for 15 years has been warned by doctors that the junk food is killing her.
Stacey Irvine, 17, has been hooked on the treats since her mother bought her some at a McDonalds restaurant when she was two.
In a small portion of fries there are 230 calories, 11g of fat, 29g of carbohydrates, 3g protein and 160mg sodium.
If Miss Irvine were to eat three portions of each in a day she would eat a third more fat and almost double the amount of salt than is recommended.
Also each portion of chicken nuggets contains just two per cent of our daily vitamin C requirement, compared to 106 per cent in an orange.
Not much better are the fries, which contain eight per cent of our vitamin C needs.
Medics gave her a series of injections and started her on an urgent course of vitamins.

Hooked on chicken nuggets: Girl, 17, who has eaten nothing else since age TWO rushed to hospital after collapsing
Sounds to me like Mommy and Daddy didn’t have the guts to tell her “no” when she was two.
“No, you can’t have chicken nuggets again. Eat your peas.”
“No, I’m not taking you to McDonalds today. Eat your broccoli. Not hungry? That’s okay. I’ll put it in the refrigerator, and when you’re hungry, you can have some later.”
I'm imagining:
I call BS. There is nothing more than a screaming headline.
What in the world was wrong with her idiot parents? A toddler can’t buy her own Chicken McNuggets.
Why is this relevant if all she's been eating are chicken nuggets? In any event I don't believe she's eaten NOTHING but chicken nuggets for the last 15 years.
Upcoming Darwin award winner.
I'm imagining:
I bet Moochelle Antoinette the First Food Nazi was on this like black on rice.
Can’t say “white on rice”, cuz tha’ bee racis’.
Watched kids at the "y". Mom would go to the gym and the kids would eat their McDonald's crap. You soon figure out that it's not about the gym class...but the "I don't wanna cook".
Apparently her picture is in post #3.
Maybe she can eat some more Chicken McNuggets.
Love the prison stripes. For ONCE she’s dressed appropriately!
She actually looks pretty healthy.
Anemia is very common in young menstruating females, even those who eat a more varied diet.
Story does not tell us the source of her respiratory symptoms, her fasting lipids, her blood pressure, etc.
So, although I would not (and did not) feed my kids such a diet, there is no evidence from the article that her ER visit had anything to do with Ronald McDonald.
There was a guy at work who pretty much lived on energy drinks, McNuggets and video games. Nice guy, but he was sick ALL the time.
