The soundtrack evoked a “Four Perked-Up Ears” response from here!

That crow was trying to STOP those cats from fighting. Did you notice the crow was pulling the black cat’s tail? The crow must have witnessed this before....

One of the neighborhood crows today was divebombing a hawk
I've seen hawks peacefully soaring over fields when out of the blue will come a crow cawing like mad then within a couple minutes he will have summoned a half dozen of his buddies to help chase the hawk away......

Pretty cool :-)
However, if one of those cats was our now departed Yellow Tabby 'Boots', the Crow would have been dinner.

I find no humor in that video at all. When the cats stopped yowling at each other, the fight turned deadly serious. Not seeing one of the cats at the end of the video was not a good sign, nor was it funny at all, for it lost a deadly fight. The "winner" did not look unscathed either.
I could never stand and roll tape on such nasty goings on.

Boy, I spend the day relaxing and watching football and I miss all the fun!
I didn't know what sort of corvid that was so I went on-line and looked it up. It appears it is an Old World carrion crow (also called hooded crow). This from the link:
The European Carrion Crow, Corvus corone, flies with regular wing beats in a dead straight line when going somewhere in particular, hence the common statement 'such and such a place is x miles distant as the crow flies' meaning in a straight line. There are 6 subspecies of the Carrion Crow, several of which are distinctly coloured in white or grey and are called Hooded Crows. Hooded Crows have a more northerly and easterly distribution than the Carrion Crow.
The pictures they showed looked exactly like this crow too. So that's my best guess!
Thanks for the pings!

Thanks for your expertise, Fly.
That sounds like a lot more reliable identification than what I found on a questionable website, “a white crow.” :-)

Totally false. The cats were already starting to fight. The crow sensed it and was trying to break it up. If you notice, the black cat was already poised to attack the whiter cat...

PS...nothing funny about this. There is going to be some broken bones and wounds out of that fight. What kind of person enjoys watching that?

Well I'm not 100% about my call either, Jaz, since it is a Eurasian species and I'm only a North American birder.
But, hey, the fun part is doing the sleuth work (which we both did) to make an educated guess. To me, that's one of the most enjoyable things about birding.
Let me know when you get that snowy owl! And keep a look out for gyrfalcons. One was just photographed at Stillwater NWR a day or two ago (northcentral Nevada).
