Every Republican running for president brags of being pro-2nd Amendment while out on the campaign trail. But how many candidates actually practice what they preach?
Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum has seven guns, spokesman Matt Beynon told The Daily Caller. His favorite, the aide said, is a Kimber 1911 pistol.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul also owns guns, but his campaign wouldnt get into specifics.
He does, but a good 2nd Amendment person doesnt tip off home invaders what guns are in the house and how many he has, said Gary Howard, a spokesman for Paul.
A .22 rifle is former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsmans favorite, spokesman Tim Miller said.
He has a .22 rifle, 12 gauge shotgun and .38 pistol, Miller told TheDC.
A spokeswoman for Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann wouldnt go into details about any guns Bachmann may keep.
For obvious security reasons, she doesnt disclose what type of guns she owns, said Alice Stewart, a spokeswoman for the presidential campaign.
But she said Bachmann likes semi-automatic rifles. Micheles favorite gun is the AR-15, she told TheDC.

Now thats a pretty good response.
Too bad all mine were lost in that boating accident.
Funny, that has happened to a lot of Freepers. Really bad boatmen, we are.
I have more guns than I probably need but not as many as I want.
Santorum looks like he would be a decent shot. would love to see Bachmann with an AR too.
Ron Paul looks like either a Colt 1911 or S&W 357 type.
Huntsman reminds me of those guys with the 15k ornate shotguns.
Mittens - fuggettabbboouuuttit.
Newt definately does not look like a gun owner.
Swweeetttt!!!!!
Why did you retire your A-5s?
Mine, which originally belonged to my father, just got a rehab (cartridge stop, mag cutoff, all new springs) and is back onto sporting clays and upland fowl.
Dad beat the doo-doo out of it during 40 some odd South Dakota pheasant seasons with those 1 5/8 ounce short-mag loads, and it needed a little attention.
I’m now using 1250 fps 1 1/4 ounce loads and a 22” Invector Plus barrel with the recoil set for full power loads. It’s sweet on recoil, and although skeeters and sporting clayers growl about my “heavy” loads, it’s reliable and controllable.
Freepmail me if you need parts or a barrel. There is a veritable PILE of them here in south Georgia.
AR-15
Uzi
AK-47
The Japanese made A-5 is the gun I take to the field. No tears if it gets a scratch and splatter of muck.
The others are Belgian in 80 + percent condition. My son can have them when I’m gone.
sign at my local gun shop:
“my greatest fear is that when I’m gone my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.”
I put a Bell and Carlson composite stock set on my A-5 and solved THAT problem.
I'm down to 5, most of them 16's.
The Humpback.
Long may it reign...
