Why did you retire your A-5s?
Mine, which originally belonged to my father, just got a rehab (cartridge stop, mag cutoff, all new springs) and is back onto sporting clays and upland fowl.
Dad beat the doo-doo out of it during 40 some odd South Dakota pheasant seasons with those 1 5/8 ounce short-mag loads, and it needed a little attention.
I’m now using 1250 fps 1 1/4 ounce loads and a 22” Invector Plus barrel with the recoil set for full power loads. It’s sweet on recoil, and although skeeters and sporting clayers growl about my “heavy” loads, it’s reliable and controllable.
Freepmail me if you need parts or a barrel. There is a veritable PILE of them here in south Georgia.
