A week ago, bloggers brought to light that Apples voice-controlled mobile assistant Siri was delivering distressful omissions when asked about certain kinds of emergency healthcare situations.
Specifically, situations that relate to female sexual emergencies. American bloggers in different locations were asking Siri to help them find abortion clinics, the morning after pill, and rape crisis resources. When Siri was delivering results at all, they were often the offensive opposite.
If you missed the controversy, Siri was branded across news headlines as being pro-life (the questionable self-name for anti-abortion crusaders, widely known for their violence, aggression and fanaticism).

While I believe that abortion is the greatest sin this country has ever committed, I cannot agree with your assessment of the current crop of college grads. My daughter-in-law graduated from UTC in ‘08. She is strongly pro-life, pro-military and a committed Christian. My oldest daughter is graduating from Auburn next Monday. She, also, is pro-life, pro-military, a committed Christian AND applying to a police academy for a career in law enforcement. My youngest daughter will be graduating from Auburn next May and is pro-life, pro-military, and a committed Christian who has served on a mission field for a short time. They can all argue rings around liberals. I’ve heard them do so. So, please be encouraged. Not all of this up-and-coming generation are lost.
I can die happy. My job is done.
There was probably a college professor who told her this. There may even have been a whole class that revolved around this fact. These days, it takes years to get the stupid out of the head of people who have been to almost any college. Unless they went in there with a body of knowledge and moral underpinnings, they come out drooling morons who spout the party line.
Uhhh! Take one look at that thing and it is obvious she won’t be needing an abortion clinic or anything else (post or pre) related to sexual relations with a man. “Siri, I need a paper bag.”
While I commend you on your parenting skills, you might want to read my assessment a bit more carefully. :)
I did catch your disclaimer clause. However, my kids entered college in a rebellious frame-of-mind and were ripe for persuasion.
Be encouraged. Not all are coming out liberal.
What isn't mentioned in her sterling bio is that she is very often confused with the porn star of the same (assumed) name. She has engaged in numerous rants, complaints and legal actions asserting the other Violet Blue makes her look bad.
Right.
It works fine if you preface your question with “Siri.. I am a lost soul with no moral standards...help me kill unwanted my child.... so I can party again...
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
I’m glad for them, but I’m meeting a lot of people these days in the 21-30 range who are completely brainwashed. I’m talking layer upon layer of ignorance like an onion. A veritable tunicate of lies and half-truths.
They have grown up in a world where there are major ramifications for not toeing the social line and next to ZERO consequences for financial failings, such as taking out hundreds of thousands in school loans for graduate degrees in “Women’s Studies” or some other worthless area of study.
Many have years of ADD medication to keep them easy to control, and things like participation trophies to keep their self-esteem falsely inflated.
They simply cannot fathom anything that challenges any part of their world view. Anyone who tries to challenge them or even represents from afar something that might contradict their ‘knowledge base’ is belittled and ostracized.
No doubt, there are exceptions here and there, but what you’re talking about isn’t anywhere near the norm from what I’ve been seeing all over the country in the last few years.
Night of the Living Dead is real and it’s happening at a commencement ceremony near you.
How is killing a baby a “female sexual emergency”? These self-absorbed liberal women sicken me.
Google works fine. I just clicked the microphone icon in Chrome and had Kathy (Mac OS voice) ask for ‘nearby abortion clinic’ and ‘morning after pill’. Plenty of results both times.

>>>These are smart phones so that means they also have a browser and google - they can find the local abortion clinic.
Siri is just a voice interface to the same search engines you hit with a browser, and if you tried searching ‘abortion clinic’ in any of them, you’d get the same thing Siri gives back... because - as noted above, the baby killers don’t call themselves what they are - they use the PC euphemisms... and, pro-life groups have bought search results for certain keyword searches in some places - which is why Siri gave back the pro-life results in some cases.
All of this reminds me of the Lions, Tigers etc. (cat kingdoms).
They by nature try to kill their off-spring so that the female will go back into heat, and the males can get more sex.
My experience with Siri is that it generally works poorly no matter what query is posed to it. Kudos to any of the software’s programmers if they tried to put a pro-life spin into their product - but I seriously doubt it. If their’s any bias in the software’s ability to direct it’s users to abortion clinics it no doubt comes from the very nature of the business. Abortionists tend to hide what they’re really doing with euphemisms and deceptive language - making them hard for automatic search algorithms to locate. When the chips are down, they know full well that what they’re doing is shameful. We on the other hand, have nothing to hide.
Yours is a very good comment.
Perhaps you should go to that forum discussion, and make your same exact post there, and perhaps that “lady” will understand how clueless she really is about the abortion agenda pushers.
“A veritable tunicate of lies and half-truths.”
tunicate:
noun Zoology
a marine invertebrate of a group that includes the sea squirts and salps. They have a rubbery or hard outer coat and two siphons to draw water into and out of the body.
adjective (usu. tunicated) Botany
(of a plant bulb, e.g., an onion) having concentric layers.
Just FYI, according to the New Oxford American Dictionary.
The Violet Blue bio:
“Violet Blue (tinynibbles.com, @violetblue) is a Forbes Web Celeb, SF Appeal contributor, a high-profile tech personality and one of Wired’s Faces of Innovation. She is regarded as the foremost expert in the field of sex and technology, a sex-positive pundit in mainstream media (MacLife, Forbes.com, The Oprah Winfrey Show, others) and is regularly interviewed, quoted and featured prominently by major media outlets (from ABC News to the Wall Street Journal). A published feature writer and columnist, Violet also has many award-winning, best-selling books; her books are featured on Oprah’s website. She was the notorious sex columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle. She headlines at conferences ranging from ETech, LeWeb and SXSW: Interactive, to Google Tech Talks at Google, Inc. The London Times named Blue one of the 40 bloggers who really count.”
Nice to see that Forbes and Oprah support this person...
Gee, thanks. I should have said tunicate bulb instead of just tunicate. Thanks, PersnicketyLiberty.
