Although I understand why Cain supporters feel let down and disappointed, I don't understand those who are thowing up their hands, conceding the election to 0bama, and declaring the end of the Republic.
Where was there any evidence that Cain had capabilty and experience to lead the Nation?
Did he have years of fighting the good fight with the scars to prove it? No. Compare the battles Sarah Palin fought even before 2008.
Since he is a radio commentator, was he a leading voice of conservative thought? No. If you want a radio host with a thorough understanding of the Constitution and gov't, Mark Levin would be a better choice.
He didn't have a distinguished military career like Col. West. Working on weapons gives you no geo-poltical experience as to when to use them. Oppenheimer may have been the father of the A-bomb, but he was never qualified to decide when to use it.
Finally, if his business experience was in manufacturing or finance, he would have a better understanding of what it will take to bring America back. But,the US doesn't need anymore fast food joints.
He added to the debate for sure, but he wasn't the end all be all.
So let me get this right. This person creates a vanity and after over 70 posts cannot even respond to ONE of them?
Even the “positive” ones? Hit and run, that’s lamestream for ya.
“You think your candidate will survive even 24 hours once just the things I know surface?
I think you better do some research and ask some Texans that do not support Jimmy rick and why they dislike him so much.”
Whatever, Sam. He put himself out there. He needs to take ownership. I am a Texan and I like him.. I don’t follow gutter stuff just Cainiacs didn’t care about anything. I’m offended having to even have it enter the campaign. I only want to beat Obama. Maybe THE candidate isn’t even in yet.
I read that post and thought it a bit edgy for FR, but certainly not delete material. It was and is part of the conversation conservatives need to have.
Cain evoked a lot of emotional support. Even mine for a bit.
BUT, he has some serious flaws when it came to international matters etc. We have a novice in the office now...upgrading to a beginner wasn’t going to be good enough.
All the other stuff was distraction as far as I was concerned. The man had some serious short-comings we were not seeing for all the noise being made.
We’re going to have to focus on the congressional races to keep the future president in check. That...that is our reality at this point. We cannot afford another “regime” in office.
Are you a ROMNEY-BOTT or a PAUL-ANISTA?
Only someone who is obviously OVERJOYED that Cain has dropped out, giving whomever you support a boost, would post such an insensitive, BS, comment.
Got KOOL AID???
My objections were directed, not toward his vanity, but to your insufferable vulgarity, and your inability to argue against him in rational terms.
There went my other post! This guy creates a vanity and after all these responses not ONE back from him.
Hit and run....lamestream, even here at FR.
Bye chris. Go sniff DU shoes. Politics for dummies is right up your alley.
You are right, Santorum is the only other alternative. Newt is a filthy pig, and stabs everyone in the back that is ever foolish enough to trust him.
Good post....
I agree about the edgy for FR. The longer this thread continues, the more it seems like a hit and run. He has yet to respond to ANY post.
I can no longer allow it to continue without voicing my opinion. Did I go a tad bit over board? Probably. I try never to curse, even with “symbols” doing it for me, but to post such a vanity soon after Cain drops out? Salt in the wound to push Newt on us? THAT, to me, is delete worthy.
I guess I’m still not over the Sarah thing and Cain was my only other option.......but you just gave me a new one.
Congress. Thank you.
Another couple of decades of economic decline will cure that. Kool really sux from the view of a mud hut.
You gots "Kool" right now -- a homo, druggie, commie, muzzie, anti-American scumbag.
You had "Cool" under GWB, the best president that Mexico, China, and India ever had, and the second smartest guy that Texas couldn't get rid of.
You had "Kool" under Clinton; the list of crimes is just too long to paste in.
You had "Cool" under GHWB, who started the anti-American ball rolling by selling us out to Communist China, and literally puking on the Japanese Prime Minister.
I noticed you stopped with Reagan, the first man I mentioned. I wonder why.
As for Bush, no denying it, the man loved his country.
As a foreign popcorn-eating observer I finally got around to watching Mr. Cain’s speeches on youtube... I didn’t recognize any real Presidential material.
Interesting man, but no gravitas. Instead I am impressed by Newt, even though I disagree with him about certain issues of American exceptionalism. Plus I see his egg-headedness eventually turning against him (he’d better start turning more folksy ‘cause Americans don’t really go that big for intellectuals. (I wrote this book I scripted that movie).
Perry reminds me of Bush. But that’s just at a surperficial level. And I think he needs a second and third look. Ron Paul’s libertarianism is pied-piperish. So far I’d vote for Newt, though I’ll always have Sarah Palin in my heart.
For those complaining, just imagine that all your politicians were replaced by banking Czars. My Prime Minister (Goldman Sachs, Trilateral Commission, Bilderberger group and Moody’s) was appointed by a communist who just today reaped accolades from the NYTimes. Which leads me to think that Ron Paul isn’t so Pied Piperish after all, and maybe he too deserves another look. ‘Cause big government and crony Capitalism (that owns the newtorks, Academia and the money) is indeed extremely dangerous.
I’m confused, but so far Newt’s the one who gets my preference. He makes politics come alive. Forza America!
I told him where to shove his opinion. Is he so rude he cannot even respond to the “high fives”?
At least I have a pulse to respond. He could have come back and hit me harder, with a more polite response.....but HE DIDN’T.
In fact, he hasn’t responded to ANYONE. Hit and run.
With both Newt and Mitt, they have no discernible core values. Expediency seems their base. Tell’em what they want to hear. Go along to get along. I voted for a poor choice in 2008. This time the country is so degraded voting for another progressive only seals our fate. Not voting puts Obama back in, voting for Mitt puts a more competent socialist / crony capitalist in. I’m not at all sure but that Newt is worse. No, I don’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth.
