During his electoral battle tour in the south of the States, John F. Kennedy visited Dallas (Texas) on November 22, 1963. On his arrival at 1140 hours, he was warmly welcomed by the people of Dallas. I was in the 4th grade. A kid came by the classroom and said the president had been shot. It seemed surreal. I walked home early. My mom was stuck in traffic only 3 blocks behind the motorcade while trying to pass through Dealy Plaza - she was unaware that Kennedy was in town. Due to around the clock TV coverage, there were no cartoons on TV for at least 3 days. :-(

I have no doubt Oswald was a total communist kook that pulled the trigger, but I still have not decided if he had any help.

I was in a noon time study hall. We had 1/2 hour of study hall then 1/2 hour of lunch then another 1/2 hour of study hall. When we came back from lunch some of the guys had heard it on their car radios.

We had a pep rally the next period because that night we had the first basketball game of the season. Of course, the official announcement came at the assembly. No pep rally and no basketball game occurred. School was dismissed early.

I remember the Kennedy Funeral on TV. I came home from school and it was on every channel. I wanted to watch Wallace & Ladmo!

That is the theory I believe in. In my younger days I investigated all the other theories, but I have finally concluded that is simply what happened.

“Anybody old enough to remember that day - November 22, 1963?”

Just turned 4 years old, I remember my older sister was upset.

Anybody old enough to remember that day - November 22, 1963?

I sure do. I was actually in Bethesda Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland getting ready to give birth to my daughter when he was assassinated. Later that evening they brought JFK's body to the hospital, and after the Kennedy family arrived, taking over the whole top floor, the hospital was placed on lock down.

Later that evening I went into labor, but since the hospital was still on lock down my doctor, who was not on duty at that time, was not allowed to be with me. No one could enter or leave while JFK or the family was still there. Definitely a night I will never forget.

That website page you suggest should also include an Amazon link to the Gerald Posner book 'Case Closed'.

Maybe add the following line for bonus points:

"ACLU member Lee Harvey Oswald shot NRA Life Member JFK."

I was in school that day....remember it well...other than that, why should anyone dredge up memories of a letch who wouldn’t have amounted to anything in comparison with other presidents had he not been assassinated and idolized as the lost king of Camelot by the liberal media...

I was in third grade at St. Anthony's Grammar School, Jersey City. Sister Rosa Lima made the announcement over the PA system that President Kennedy had been shot in Dallas Texas.

I remember thinking he must have been in a shoot out with six shooters and cowboy hats. Hell...I was eight years old!.

I’ve listened to some of the speeches of Democrats of 50 years ago - My, they sound so conservative. One speech of Humbert Humphrey was really good - fit for Tea Party. It shows how far left we have all been skewed.

Most of my life, I would consider myself fairly conservative.

I cried the day Hubert Humphrey died.

These days, no matter how much we don’t want to admit it, there have actually been some stellar dem politicians.

Daniel Patrick Moynihan comes to mind...

Not many. But a few. These guys were men, with true values.

And I consider JFK in that bunch. He ALMOST prevented the Viet Nam war. And we do have that little moon landing thing to thank him for. A moment I will go to my grave believing was one of Americas finest hours!

I hear you. His speeches were really inspiring. Another Dem like is Zell Miller. And Joe Leiberman had his moments. His party betrayed him and he went Independent.

Yep. We have ALL lowered our standards to the point that even the lefties of yesteryear seem to the right. Frog in the pot.

No doubt, but even as a leftie he was still to the right of many Republican and most Democrat candidates today.
