As you sit down with your family on Thanksgiving and consider offering a prayer of gratitude, be aware the turkey at the center of the table may have already been "blessed" in the name of Allah.
Customer service representatives from Butterball, one of America's most popular Turkey brands, confirmed to WND that the company's whole turkeys are without being labeled as such slaughtered according to Islamic "halal" standards.
"Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus and the jugular vein and letting the blood drain out while saying, 'Bismillah allahu akbar'

The ultimate danger posed by a program presenting the normal side of life for American Muslims is that it isnt accurate. Quite similar, no doubt, to the normal side of life for American Methodists.
What the BOOK says and what they actually DO are far apart.
If I offended any Methodist with the above; just place ANY denomination in there instead. It'll work just the same.

Its good to have the information so a consumer can make an informed choice. While I dont think Im going to hell if I eat a turkey dedicated to Satan, I would prefer one that wasnt.All other things being equal, what is the difference between a halal turkey and a non-halal turkey? And how would you be affected?

I know all about false prophets, I am a saved mormon....and with that background I am very familiar with the violent false prophet Mohammed.And, you probably very well know that the 'prophet' instructed his followers NOT to eat MEAT in the WARM WEATHER.

THE
DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
SECTION 89
Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Kirtland, Ohio, February 27, 1833. HC 1: 327329. As a consequence of the early brethren using tobacco in their meetings, the Prophet was led to ponder upon the matter; consequently he inquired of the Lord concerning it. This revelation, known as the Word of Wisdom, was the result. The first three verses were originally written as an inspired introduction and description by the Prophet.
19, Use of wine, strong drinks, tobacco, and hot drinks proscribed; 1017, Herbs, fruits, flesh, and grain are ordained for the use of man and of animals; 1821, Obedience to gospel law, including the Word of Wisdom, brings temporal and spiritual blessings.
1
A aWord OF Wisdom, for the benefit of the council of high priests, assembled in Kirtland, and the church, and also the saints in Zion
2 To be sent greeting; not by commandment or constraint, but by revelation and the
aword of wisdom, showing forth the order and
bwill of God in the temporal salvation of all saints in the last days
3 Given for a principle with
apromise, adapted to the capacity of the
bweak and the weakest of all
csaints, who are or can be called saints.
4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of
aevils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of
bconspiring men in the last days, I have
cwarned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this
word of wisdom by revelation
5 That inasmuch as
any man adrinketh bwine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.
6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea,
apure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.
7 And, again,
astrong drinks are not for the belly,
but for the washing of your bodies.
8 And again, tobacco is not for the
abody, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.
9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.
10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome
aherbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man
11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with
aprudence and
bthanksgiving.
12 Yea,
aflesh also of
bbeasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used
csparingly;
13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be
aused, only in times of winter, or of cold, or
bfamine.
14 All
agrain is ordained for the use of man and of beasts, to be the staff of life, not only for man but for the beasts of the field, and the fowls of heaven, and all wild animals that run or creep on the earth;
15 And
athese hath God made for the use of man only in times of famine and excess of hunger.
16 All grain is good for the
afood of man; as also the
bfruit of the vine; that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground
17 Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse, and rye for the fowls and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks, as also other grain.
18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments,
ashall receive
bhealth in their navel and marrow to their bones;
20 And shall
arun and not be
bweary, and shall walk and not faint.
21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the
adestroying angel shall
bpass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.

This religion of man garbage just goes on and on and on....
I've always wondered how mormons can look at this bit of so-called scripture, supposedly from the mouth the the "man who communed with God", then accept the current "works" requirements of the lds sect. Even when I was in I couldn't make sense of it. IE:
Verse 2 "not by commandment or constraint" Has become a requirement to hold a temple recommend and therefore "go to heaven" or not at the second coming;
Verse 5 "...drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him" Has turned into Water being used for Sacraments somehow;
Verse 9"And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly" This has been extrapolated into Coffee, and because coffee has caffeine, cold drinks like pepsi must also be bad, and because chocolate has caffeine it is banned by many fathers and local leaders as well;
Verse 12 "flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used csparingly;" Completely ignored;
Verse 17 " barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks",...Mild drink of Barley, AKA BEER now forbidden.
One needs look no further than this bit of rubbish and the addition to and taking from the words of this 175 year old religion to see what the doctrines of men do to "scripture". Imagine where this will be in another 175 years !

Most every potato chip you can buy in a plastic package in this country is Halal, and check the Circled P ~ that means Pareve ~ a word derived from Hebrew. That means the product (in this case potato chips) contains no animal meat or milk! That doesn't mean its Kosher, but for people who keep Kosher it's important.
We have other signs now ~ a big G says the product is gluten free. Many products are marked to indicate that nuts may be present.
To: mountainlion
LOL sausage stuffing ;)
In all seriousness, I think Christians are going to need to standup...to local municipalities to prevent sharia law from becoming basis of our legal system and to various food processors to stop this movement to “Islamsize” (sp) our country. A year ago or so, I noticed soups tasted different, not nearly as good as they used to~ and someone posted a thread that Campbell soups are now halal certified. Reading the accounts of the halal slaughter, it sounds just gruesome and I don’t like idea of meats being dedicated to and blessed by Allah. I will be writing Butter Ball and telling them I will never purchase a Butter Ball product again unless they specify non-halal.

There is Scripture in the Bible about eating foods sacrificed to an idol. If it bothers you or someone around you do not eat it. If allah does not bother you go ahead and eat it.

Well, problem is that many (including me)don’t live on a farm, so not sure whether or not food is or is not halal...until reading this had no idea Butter Ball Turkey was halal until reading this thread...
