Caption Occupy Wall Street "Day of Action" (**snort**)

Posted on 11/17/2011 9:55:14 AM PST by Lucky9teen

Occupy Wall Street demonstrators dance in front of the New York City Police during what protest organizers call a "Day of Action" in New York November 17, 2011. Hundreds of Occupy Wall Street protesters marched through New York's financial district toward the stock exchange on Thursday to protest economic inequality at the heart of the American capitalism.

Sunni Justice 27, unemployed, poses for a portrait in the Occupy Toronto camp at St James Park, Toronto, November 7, 2011. Sunni said, "..why am I here? Simple answer is because I care about the earth and I care about my fellow brothers and sisters, human beings, and we're not taking care of each other and it's very out of balance and I know how beautiful the earth and human beings truly are and so I'm here because this is a movement working towards finding a better balance..."

Marcia Williams, 23, who is unemployed, poses for a picture in the Occupy Oakland camp where she is living with her six year-old son Brock, Oakland, California November 7, 2011. Marcia said, "My goal is to change families that don't have anywhere to go, families that are homeless ... especially single mothers with children. They need healthcare and resources so they can find homes, and childcare and health and .. stuff so mothers have a job, ... and have somewhere where someone can take care of their child while they're working. That's one of my goals I'd like to see happen here."

Thom Reges, 26, unemployed, poses for a picture in a protest camp at McPherson Square in Washington, November 10, 2011. Reges said, "I want rational limitations on government and its interactions with corporations. So that you have the end of lobbying groups...having publicly funded elections so that we don't have politicians that are more interested in their corporate backers, ...so that they worry about the votes not who's paying for their campaign".

Yes, that guy's on the right track.

He doesn't know it, but it's his union hosts who would put a stop to those plans.

They use their political influence to get rich on the backs of the tax payers. They want the corporations to lose their rights to lobby, while the unions retain their own rights. A perfect disaster.

Publically-funded election campaigns are unnecessary, and will just be a giant boon to advertising and television industries. Here's the solution to campaign reform, lobbying reform, government reform:

That's how you get government to listen more to the people and less to unions, special interest groups and corporations.

Being a Native New Yorker and having spent much of my formative and adult years in and around NYC and it’s suburbs one thing I learned is that you do not, under any ciscumstance, mess with the New York Cops! Unless you’re into gettin’ your head broke it’s not a smart idea.

Most of these “Protesters”, from what I can tell, are either from out of town, want to get arrested (martydom) or are just plain crazy. Maybe some of them have a death wish or just can’t help themselves - I don’t know. I’ll say this much for the NYPD, they have shown remarkable restraint and so far have behaved professionally in handling these idiots. I tip my hat to them!

****Individual qualified and registered voters only can contribute to campaigns.****

I guess this is where Ayn Rand’s writing about making criminals comes into play.

The lack of action against these protesters comes from Bloomberg, and is by no means to be construed as “restraint”. Enabling is a much more descriptive term for what is going on.

“Day of Action” = act in provocative, arrogant and unacceptable ways to which the authorities eventually have to react, after which the “protesters” can whine “see, we told you how mean and repressive the government is, just proves all we’ve been saying all along” - self-defeating and self-fulfilling at the same time.....

***the Rubbaiyyat of Omar Khayyamabama***

tee hee

I took this picture from a 1914 Khayyam Calendar which is - unhappily - disintegrating. [I might have enhanced the figure a little bit here and there. ;-)] It appears on a page of my website giving a thin explanation of Kabbalistic magic.
