LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- A University of Nebraska regent says he fears for the safety of the Cornhuskers' football traveling party and fans at Saturday's game at Penn State. He wants assurances a security plan is in place to protect them.

Since it is a home game at PSU, I don’t really see it as being risky for the PSU fans and band, etc.
I’ve heard first hand reports that the PSU fans are even worse than Boulder or Madison. If that’s true they definitely should think about a forfeit. Some idiots are going to be yelling “Ped State” and then it starts to get ugly.
Hopefully the NCAA will let the football players transfer without penalty.
Penn State needs a voluntary three year hiatus on football. That'll give them time to settle the lawsuits, raze the buildings, melt the statue and start from scratch.
That wouldn’t exactly be fair to the other teams, would it? You have the lost revenue for the other schools (and local communities), and then there’s the fact that schools that don’t play PSU for the rest of the year will see their rivals get freebie wins.
I think that they should finish the season, if only for the integrity of the conference schedule. If they get the death penalty, it should be for next year.
If they all wear chastity belts... backwards... they should be OK!
PSU is the home of Queerfest, Cuntfest, the first all homosexual fraternity (Delta Lambda Phi started in 1987), and AGW promoter Michael Mann. What else would you expect from Pedo State U. which is filled with flaming Leftists, homosexuals, and lesbians?
If there was ever a reason for the NCAA to issue the “death penalty” to a football program, this is it. They won’t have the guts though, since it’s such a big business for Pedophile State U.
This is an excellent example of why the Boy Scouts don’t allow homosexuals into their organization!
No, but then again those schools will have to pony up for the added security when Penn State comes to town. It's a bit thorny with Nebraska, because if you just automatically give them the win, that's not fair to the other teams in their division that played Penn State and lost, but since they're not in Penn State's division, not every team has played them. If they don't play Ohio State or Wisconsin, then you'd just have to remove the Penn State game from the other teams in their division, as if Penn State was a non-conference game.
And penalize the players that did nothing wrong. No the Univ has to bear the cost of additional police and security to make everyone happy.
The reason SMU got the Death Penalty was because their impact on the Dallas economy was negligible.
Thanks. I didn’t know it was a home game. Would be interesting (if the game is on) to see how many Nebraska peeps make it.
Baylor University’s basketball program escaped the death penalty. Unfortunately, Patrick Dennehy did not.
If player or fan safety is at risk to any degree, based upon that alone, the remaining games should be canceled.
So charge PSU for the extra security, and play the games. The schedule was set before the season started, and they can’t just go around giving teams free wins or saying that a game played 6 weeks ago suddenly doesn’t count. As big as the problem at PSU is, the integrity of the conference schedule should be an even bigger consideration.
Yup. It's going to take a long long time to get past this. I can only say that they brought it on themselves. Sandusky should have been locked up a decade ago (or more).
You've got a good start, but remember the words of Lily Tomlin: No matter how cynical you get, it's hard to keep up."

I have been on several sites and some are saying that the seniors are not going to play Saturday. Who knows? Those students were disgusting last night. I heard a student say the coach should not have been fired over something as small as this.
