PHOENIX (AP) — For more than a half century, Bil Keane's clever "Family Circus" comics entertained readers with a mix of humor and traditional family values, intentionally simplistic because the author thought the American public needed that consistency.

I liked the ones where the whole family would be somewhere and all the kids were asking questions at the same time.

Jeff Keane, Bil Keane’s son who lives in Laguna Hills, Calif., said that his father died of congestive heart failure with one of his other sons by his side after his conditioned worsened during the last month. All of Keane’s five children, nine grandchildren and great-granddaughter were able to visit him last week, Jeff Keane said.

Ouch! They can't even let the man die in peace.

It was a comic the whole family could enjoy and it wasn't very different from the other comics that were around when it started.

No need to apologize for that or be ashamed of it.

Hopefully his son will carry on after him.

I think his son, Glenn, has been drawing it for several years. It's one of my favorites.
