I'm kinda attracted to the Panerais, but ... damn, the prices!

I prefer a pocket watch with a chain hanging from a vest pocket. It gives one that robber baron look.

$50 Timex I’ve had for 12 years - it ain’t pretty but takes a pounding and keeps great time.

I like the digital ones you get at WalMart for 29.95 which have a keyboard, stop watch, notes and which will record notes to yourself.

I’m hard on watches and don’t like stuff wrapped around my wrist so I favor $12 pocket watches from Wally World.

My favorite all around watch? Luminox - the night visibility is really phenominal.

But, overall, the watch is obsolete. My iPhone never needs to be wound, batteries never need changing, the alarm is easy to set, self-sets Daylight and by geographic location, wakes me to any music or radio station I want.
The watch is an expensive, single-purpose device that is really completely obsolete. I don't wear a watch anymore.

I’ve been happy with Seiko.
My first Seiko was a gift from my husband in 1981, and lasted until 1995 or so. Its demise was completely my fault. My second Seiko, purchased in about 1996, is still going strong. I have avoided subjecting it to the process that killed my first watch.
A word of warning to anyone who is a bio/medical researcher out there: I killed the watch by wearing it while vortexing samples. The vibrations over a period of months eventually cracked the battery, and the acid damage was not reparable.

$20-$25 Timex wrist watches. Just buy a new one when they get damaged or just quit working.
I have a Bulova Accutron pocket watch for formal occasions.

I’m not a watch snob! I’ve been wearing the same Seiko for over 30 years. Brushed stainless, sorta hexagonal case and dial. But the best part? Self-winding. And now worth many times what I paid for it!
I also have the first digital that Seiko imported. It’s gigantic! I should get a battery for it. Just for laughs!

Nothing. They’re archaic. What is the point of wearing something on the wrist that has the sole purpose of telling time? No matter where I am now, I have at least three clocks around me.
