Alec Baldwin splashes out $11.7m on luxury NYC pad... a week after supporting Occupy Wall Street

He recently showed his support to protesters by appearing at the Occupy Wall Street base in Zuccotti Park.

But protestors at the camp, who are campaigning against social and economic equality, will no doubt be interested to learn that the actor has just splashed $11.7million on a plush New York home.

The 53-year-old actor has just acquired the huge property, which was once six separate apartments all knocked into one.

The sprawling 4,137 square foot, three bedroom, four bathroom home, located in the hip West Village was originally listed at $12.5million but Baldwin managed to reduce the price.

The actor is moving into the luxury property with his new girlfriend Hilaria Thomas, a 27-year-old yoga instructor.

The 30 Rock star recently vacated his 3,000-square-foot place at 300 Central Park West.

To call this man a cynical hypocrite would be a gross understatement.

Meanwhile, his younger brother Stephen, also an actor, is a committed Christian with a Godly world view.

Here’s his web site.

He should invite all the bums to crash at his place

Reminds me of the Clint Eastwood movie where Clint throws all of the guests out of the hotel and then the preacher is appalled that he would do that to his brothers and sisters. “are they your brothers too? (they most certainly are) Then you won’t mind them staying at your place ...”

Why do I think that Hilaria wouldn't stick around if Alec decided instead to live at Occupy Wall Street? Alec is part of the 1% and has to buy his girl. I've seen his behind up close (clothed of course) and it is as wide as the USS Carl Vinson (which I once had the great honor of having Thanksgiving dinner on as a civilian.)

I can't imagine the lovely 27-year-old could bare that strange for too long. Hope she shops a lot to ignore her dissatisfaction. Just wait 'til he starts raging at her. He is a carb loading vegetarian that lives on the sweet highs. He can't be too pleasant coming down from those binges.

Only Alec is allowed to be fat in that relationship. Halaria. Shop 'til you drop girl!

Anyone want to bet that the 27 year old yoga instructor is going to end up being more expensive than the new flat.

This dickhead made this move because he's seriously thinking about running for Mayor and/or U.S. Senator.

Good Luck New York...looks like your chickens are heading home to roost!

I heard Steven on the Hannity radio program a few months back. I already knew he was a vocal person about Christianity...At first I thought he was “working” this. Then I heard the sincerity in his voice...plus, he had some fascinating retorts to Hannity (they were talking about what a jerk the brother was—Steven was sticking up for him...or at least trying to get Sean to understand that it was not right to attack Ding-Dong, even though he deserves it).

Sounds like a nice guy, and genuine. I hope so.

Alec...well, all I can say about him is the Team America movie made me laugh me arse off! Arrrick Bar-win!

The South Park Guys—crude as they get—I ADORE THAT THEY GO FOR THESE LEFT WIING FOOLS...with such accuracy and wit.

Soooo must bug Arrick Bar-win...being so uber evolved and smarter than everyone else!

Can't wait for his daughter's tell all Daddy Dearest book. Well, actually...I hope she is okay...But her parents must have been quite something to be “raised” by.

>>> To call this man a cynical hypocrite would be a gross understatement.

How so? He went to the protestors defending capitalism. Kneejerk much?

Alec Baldwin visited the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City this week, where he found himself defending the very institutions the demonstrators are protesting: Banks, capitalism and the rich.

“You have to have capital markets in this country,” Baldwin said. “You can’t not have strong capital markets in this country or this country is going to go down the tubes. ... Capitalism is worthwhile and capitalism demands the flow of money. ... You want the banks to do what the banks do.”

Baldwin said he wouldn’t answer any questions, but quickly got into a discussion with a group of Ron Paul supporters who grilled him on the Federal Reserve.

> He went to the protestors defending capitalism.

Interesting. I wasn’t aware of that.

The radio news said he went there to “show solidarity” with the demonstrators.

I didn’t think he was going to actually try to expose them to reality.

Besides, so many other rich hollywood types have joined with the protesters.
