Maybe you would be inclined to tell that to my mother who grew up in Nazi Germany? My grandfather was thrown into a coal mining labor camp because he would not join the Nazi Party or send his 4 children to the Youth Camps. Showing that the regime was not only about punishing the Jews, the family are/were Catholics and spent the rest of the war hiding from the SS.

Try that imaginary view for just a moment and not the five plus years they spent on the run.

The nazis were all about wealth redistribution and the Hitler family was particularly adept at using it.

Aloise Hitler ran a beer hall in a building owned by a Jewish man. When Hitler wanted to expand the business, the landlord wouldn’t give him more space to expand. Aloise gave his half brother Adolph a call and it wasn’t long before the German Labor Front (DAF) showed up to “convince” the landlord.

The DAF was so effective that the landlord in all his generosity fled the country in the middle of the night and gave the building to Aloise.

It wasn’t just Jews either. I remember reading another similar story where a Hitler cousin showed with the gestapo up at a farm he wanted. They gave the owner and his family 5 minutes to leave.

Me too. When you sit back and watch the tactics that the hard left is using, you can clearly see the striking similarity to the rise of the Third Reich. It's rather scary that the lessons of the 1930s and 1940s have been lost.

I've often taken a hard, hawkish view of how to deal with these folks, and there's a reason. I grew up in a neighborhood where the adult generation was heavily represented by the Polish, Czeck, Slovak, German and other eastern European folks that escaped from the communists before the Iron Curtain was solidified. Some grew up as the Nazis came to power. They lived this, and they warned about it. Apparently, as that generation is slowly passing on, their knowledge is systematically being lost.

My father grew up in Berlin. My great-grandmother and other relatives were gassed to death. I'm also not one of those who talks about "the six million." I know the number is 11 million. I know that Catholics didn't fare so well either.

So they can’t make a point of what is historically correct about what mob tactics led to the Holocaust? Maybe some people have lost sight of the truth of how they got there in the first place.

God bless your family as I know they suffered much more than did mine but unless we resort to illustrating what actually happened then, how can they be taught because our lauded educational system isn’t doing it.
