ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) - A Roswell woman is asking for the public's help in finding a missing member of her family.
But this is no ordinary missing person's case. The missing member is an iguana that's around 5 feet long.
'Izzy' the iguana has only lived with the Atkinson family since last Thursday, but he's already made a run for it.
Owner Melissa Atkinson said he hadn't quite adapted to all of his new siblings yet.
"Okay, I have six poodles, a guard dog, two cats, a ferret, oh, and a snake," Atkinson explained.
Her 7-foot red-tail Columbian Boa knows his own way back inside his Roswell home, but that wasn't the case for the 5-foot iguana.

Watch the video at the link. She's got a big bandage on her right hand where the lizard took a bite out her. Appears a bit on the nutty side if you ask me.

Cute reporter says the lizard is her size. Would much rather meet her on the street than the lizard.
p.s. Wonder if the 7-foot boa ate the 5-foot lizard?

Saw the title and had to make sure I was zipped up.
To: conservaterian
The title says large lizard, not itty bitty iguana.

Ah, iguana, the other white meat, Jose told me they taste just like chicken.
Iguanas are vegetarian, wouldn't hurt a flea on purpose. But the Wife freaks out when the cat brings a chuckawalla (like a smaller iguana) into the house.
