ABC news says it was a lie, that he met with the girl after the executive order. Story seems to have disappeared and not gain any legs. What is the truth? Has the Perry team denied the ABC story? I can look past the issue of the vaccine as an admitted mistake and write off immigration as a single issue disagreement and vote for the guy based on the fact that he is better than Romney, but if he lied about that story, it is a dealbreaker.

Funny that there are none of the usual Perry SP@M threads being posted this morning. Seems that a bunch of new supporters suddenly jumped ship after he called them “heartless” last night.

Perry spokesman Mark Miner denies that Perry spoke disingenuously about Burcham’s role in the process, but concedes that Perry did not meet Burcham until after signing the executive order.

Seems the only 2 that can debate with Zero are Mitt and Newt. Newt has no spine and Mitt is a phoney flip flopping New England RINO. I am very disappointed with this field. The fact that I am even considering Huntsman at this point is pathetic. Need a better candidate...

If the story is 100% true, it’s still a problem in that it shows Perry making policy for the whole state based on the case of one distraught family.

Perry doesn’t think fast on his feet, stumbles a little and has trouble stringing coherent sentences together. Maybe the Texas accent gets in the way, but his debate skills are lacking. And it’s not just ‘Mr. Smith goes to Washington’. He sounds as if he’s just come around to some of his conservative positions. What’s this about his thinking (in the past), that Mexican/Texas healthcare might be worth exploring? I don’t trust him.

She may be better and I am more than open to throwing my support behind Palin, she has to get in and prove she can survive one of these bloodbaths with Mitt, Santorum, Ron Paul, and the moderators nipping at her heels. That said, I hope she gets in and proves herself.

People don't like Perry mostly because of his stand on immigration, so they'll try to hit him with everything else, too. BUT....when it comes to Romney, he has Romneycare (the prelude to Obomacare) as well as running a sanctuary state when he was governor.
Out of the two - it's Perry hands down. Romneycare is far more oppressive than an op-out vaccine, and a sanctuary state (protecting illegals) if far worse than college tuition (only protecting the kids who broke no law themselves).
If it does come down to these two, it's Perry all the way. Romney tries to be anti-politician, but he's one of the most two faced politicians I've ever seen in my life! He's got flip-flopping down to a science!

I said this before and will say it again....

Sarah is not touchable by the gop candidates for each one knows in order to win the nomination they need the TeaParty.

Attacking Palin would be their demise.

Palin has been getting a colonoscopy for 3 years. The latest being 24, 000 emails. She’s still standing.

I don't know, but I've heard he's very good. Clinton warned Gore not to underestimate Bush. Clinton was right.
It could be Perry, as long as he's in the lead, is playing a role. Maybe(?) when it comes time to bring out the big gun, Perry is packing a 45 Magnum.
Like I said, I have no idea, but if he ends up our guy, I hope he has a concealed campaign strategy!

It could be Perry all the way but he’s got a lot of work left to do to get his debate skills in place to take on the field. He can provide solid coherent answers to the major questions but he hasn’t and until the campaign sets him down and makes him memorize and practice them he’s just going to ramble along it seems.

There are nine debates left so the winner is far from being determined at this time. Palin would shake the stage up with an entry but time constraints are approaching for her.

Perry's story is that HE'S OVER!!!

He wasn't even competent enough to take out romney with romneycare hanging around his neck. How terrible is that?!?

Perry was a bigger disappointment that I expected.

He said he had been lobbied on the issue by a 31-year-old woman dying of cervical cancer. It was a rhetorical island of success in the stormy weather. Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer singled it out as the governor's best moment. But Perry has a problem. He met with the woman after he made the decision to put the executive order in place. So it couldn't have influenced his decision, as he suggested in the debate.

The local conservative radio guy was talking about this as well this a.m. It seems the issue is when Perry ‘met’ the woman in question. It is entirely possible that they were in communication (phone/e-mail) with each other before the legislation was signed, but didn’t actually meet in person until later.

So right now, I’m willing to give him the benefit of a doubt. I’ve got lot more reasons to not be for him than this. However, I think it’s interesting that if they were in contact with each other before meeting, that his people didn’t come out and say so.

Romney has excellent debating skills. He has savvy, he has passion. He is a free market capitalist.

The nominee will be up against the media and Obama’s Billion $ smear campaign. Whoever he/she is...Romney included...they will need and deserve our support.

A vote for a 3rd party or no vote at all...is a direct vote for Obama.

The timeline is that the EO preceded the "lobbying."

Perry's "it wasn't a lie" defense is that he said nothing about the time order of events, only that he was "lobbied."
