Although the early symptoms of the illness are quite mild, if left untreated, it can result in serious damage to the skin, the joints, the heart and the nervous system, and effective therapy becomes very difficult. A team of researchers led by the veterinary bacteriologist Professor Reinhard Straubinger at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität (LMU) München has now shown, in an animal model, that application of a gel containing the antibiotic azithromycin to the site of the bite rapidly terminates the infection. The efficacy of this local antibiotic therapy for the treatment of borreliosis in humans is now being tested in a Phase III clinical trial.

ticks are devil spawn
Problem is deer ticks are so small it’s possible to never know you were bitten.

THis is incredibly good news! If it works well on Lyme I would if it would work equally well on Tick Fever?
Funny, I was driving in this morning 4:00a.m. and heard on Coast to Coast (dont laugh) about using Sea Salt and Vitamin C treatment for Lyme disease.
Very true. There is also a bit of a controversy as to whether it is ONLY the deer tick that is the vector.
Folks, please be very careful and take every precaution to avoid being bitten by anything. There are many doctors who are not "Lyme literate" and will not prescribe ABX quick enough. There is a very small window to eradicate the bacteria before it has the potential to become a very serious situation.
I'm not a doctor but I've seen what Lyme can do. It is NOT good.
Fortunately, you can pick up pre-measured doses at your local Chili's....
That might depend on what 'Tick Fever' is. Antibiotics are effective against bacteria and the article named a specific antibiotic.
Good advice is that after spending a day in tick country, you should take a shower and towel off vigorously all over.
You are probably ok if you get the tick off before 72 hours.
