Hope she recovers well and quickly.

The 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress was running across an unmarked crosswalk around 11 a.m. when an 84-year-old woman failed to slow down and struck her. I wonder if she had her iPod headphones on? Just ask'n.

the unidentified driver ... getting a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
A) Witherspoon should have never put herself into a potentially fatal situation.
B) How does the driver get a ticket if the crosswalk was unmarked?

RUNNING across a crosswalk doesn't give even a 20mph car enough time to see and react. Reese should have been ticketed.

Cited for failing to slow down for an unmarked crosswalk? Sounds like Reese should have received the jaywalking citation instead.

Side issue - what the heck is an “unmarked crosswalk”? If it isn’t marked, how would a driver know that it’s a crosswalk? Not excusing the driver here for striking a jogger, but I don’t see how she can be cited in this case.

She’s actually one of the few Hollywood actresses I can stand.
My favorite movie of her’s is “Election” with Matthew Broderick. Set in Hubby’s home town.

No doubt it was a 55 mph zone.
And I'll bet she was driving a Buick.
