Side issue - what the heck is an “unmarked crosswalk”? If it isn’t marked, how would a driver know that it’s a crosswalk? Not excusing the driver here for striking a jogger, but I don’t see how she can be cited in this case.

According to Washington State Law any intersection of roads/streets is considered a crosswalk across all legs of the intersection regardless of whether or not they are marked (painted on the street) or not.

As shotgun mentioned they are all unmarked crosswalks. And in at least smaller cities and towns, they are pretty strictly enforced.

My dad was visiting me at WSU for the first time (in a rental) and he went through a crosswalk (marked) with someone who looked like they might step into it. As soon as I got the words out “Pop, people in a crosswalk, they tend to enforce that pretty strictly here” he got pulled over.
