The Back to Black singer was found dead at her flat in north London on July 23.
The family statement said: ''Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death
''Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.

It did not matter, “Hard living will take it’s toll” and looking at photos of her prior to her death, her body had been so abused, she was all used up. It is amazing she lived as long as she did, given what she had done to herself.
Her body was probably so damaged, that alcohol probably was the final straw.
In the photos just before her death, she actually looked much better.
Also, she could have had legal prescriptions for drugs like ambien, valium, etc; which, when mixed with alcohol are deadly.
One doesn't have to have illegal drugs to overdose.
No “illegal” drugs. Doesn’t mean no “legal” prescription drugs... like oxy, perc, ambien, etc.

She actually looked pretty decent 10 days before she died.

I keep hearing about all this talent.
If Al Gore can win a Grammy, I’m skeptical about her talent.
I still throw her CDs on but sometimes I feel so sad listening to them.
She could have had a wide open future but the ravages of drugs and alcohol can accumulate. Even if toxology showed no drugs at time of death, her body may have just played out.
She was such a character - unique.
She had apparently switched to vodka in the last few months. You can do yourself in with legal stuff, too.
