Perry will be POTUS
Kevin Dunnigan | 8/15/2011 | Kevin Dunnigan

On Saturday,Texas Governor Rick Perry announced his intentions to be the next President of the United States. I will go on record and predict he will indeed.

Mr. Obama will not win another term unless we have some economic fairy waive her magic wand and change the world in a short 16 months. He is weak and worn out. Behind the scenes, his presidency is in chaos and in a few short months, he has another budget cutting battle that will cause him to lose all around. He will try to act like he knows what he is doing, but the majority of America for the first time is not buying.

Think back of the people you have met who said they voted for Obama. After your initial shock of why would they be so dense, you can see they fell for the empty rhetoric and empty promises. Now, have some of those shared with you they would never vote for him again? There are many that go burned the first time and will never again. On top of that, the Tea Party and Republican base is fired up. They were not in 2008 as they were tired and worn out after 8 years of a big spending RINO. Add to this that the Democratic base is also disappointed in their savior and the path to re-election for the soup kitchen organizer from Chicago looks very difficult. Saying Mr. Obama is the least qualifed person to ever hold the office of the President is the biggest understatement of the century.

The rest of the Republican field really only involves two, Michelle Bachman and Mitt Romney. The others will be gone by February.

I met Mrs. Bachman last summer and had lunch with her. What an amazing woman and fighter. She stands for exactly what I stand for and most on the far right. And she is not afraid to mix it up. The problem will be once she gets outside her home state area, it is going to be tough for her. And sad also to say that it is still hard for woman to be elected POTUS, especially at a time like this. She would make a great President, but it is a challenge that will prove to be insurmountable.

Mr. Romney is another story. I feel if Rick Perry was not in the race, Romney would be the next President. But those are now just dreams of his. Mr. Romney is a fine man and stands for much of what we stand for, BUT sometimes you just do not know. His flop-flopping through the years has created doubt. If he was the only game in town, one could plug your nose and look past that doubt if the only other choice was Mr. Obama

Romney-care is something Mr. Romney will never get over, no matter how he spins it. It looks like Obamacare will be front and center at the Supreme Court during the height of the presidential campaign, and that is not good for Mr. Romney. And during a time where the Tea Party holds great influence, Mr. Romney is too far left of all of that and when he tacks right, he is hard to believe.

The only other wild-card is Sarah Palin. Mrs. Palin is a force to be reckoned with and would make a great President. But I feel if she ran, the campaign would not be about issues and Mr. Obama would win. Hopefully she continues to just be thorn in Obamas side and keeps everyone honest. I do not feel she will run. In fact, I will go so far as to assume her and Mr. Perry have had a few phone conversations over the last few months. But I do believe Sarah Palin will have her day, just not over the next 4-8 years.

That leaves Mr. Perry. Unless there are some huge skeletons in the closet, he will be the next POTUS. Jobs and the economy is the real game in town and he can talk it and back it up. Obama can talk it, but has never had a real one. Mr. Perry is also not afraid of a fight, just ask Kay Baily!

I have two suggestions for Mr. Perry.

1. Bring back Ronald Reagans line, "Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" and repeat and repeat.

2. Say the pledge of allegience before every campaign event. Bring back some pride of country and try to bring folks together. And say the pledge in Spanish and English. I understand Mr. Perry speaks Spanish and that population needs to hear him loud and clear.

In closing, if John McCain would have been elected, America would have continued to die a slow death. Mr. Obama has woke the sleeping giant and his polices, as painful as they are, in the end will be the death of liberalism for many generations. And Mr. Perry will be riding in shortly to make sure of that.

We do not need a RINO, moderate like Perry. That is GWB number II.

Perry if he becomes President, will destroy the Republican Party.

I am not for Obama, I just don’t want a loser on Illegal Immigration like Perry, to be our President.

Bachmann is better, maybe Palin. We will have to wait and see.

It is not Perry vs. Obama right now. You are gettting ahead of yourself

Listening to Paul... I thought I was listening to some Liberal who smuggled himself into the event.

In fact, the childish half baked logic and hysterical ranting are the things I find so stupid and offensive with Liberals.

If Perry is for Traditional Values then how do you explain this....

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2763846/posts?page=1

Why would he sign a bill favored by the fascist pro-homosexual lobby that sets apart sexual behavior as some sort of sacred value that no one dare challenge?

He has lost my support for these actions of his.

The thread I linked to in my last post has been pulled because it had been already posted earlier. It was a thread about Perry signing a Hate Crimes bill.

Why would the homosexuals be concerned with Perry? He did make them a protected class in hate speech legislation he signed.

I don't particularly like Perry. He used to be a Democrat and he is very weak on immigration. Immigration is a huge problem that we don't spend enough time on, it is ruining the country.

Mr. Perry is George Bush 2, certainly better than Obama but not good. I will vote for Perry or for that matter Romney in the general if I have to but I would much rather vote for Palin, Bachman, or even Cain. I really wish Perry would have stayed out. The press will love him because of his immigration stand and they will hate him because he professes to be a Christian.

Mr. Perry has put Texas in big debt and dramatically increased state spending just the way Bush did. Bush was way better than any Democrat but he was not a good Republican president, we don't need 4 more years of Bush and that is what the press will say.

Winning a presidential election takes work. I personally don't believe you can get in a year before the election and expect to win. Regan couldn't do it that way and even though Romney had the money and organization last time he didn't succeed. Romney stayed in after the last election still working on it, he wants it bad enough to do the work. I think that makes a difference. I hope Bachman can beat Romney and Perry. Even thought I don't care for Romney I respect the fact that he is working hard for it and we have to be aware of that, I hope Buchanan knows how to overcome these two moderates and can make the difference we need.

Whomever wins the Republican nomination will be heads above whoever runs on the Democrat side. I doubt that Obama will really win the Democrat nomination, I think his inability to prove his eligibility this time will keep him out. I know that sounds silly but a few states are making it the only way he will be able to run. I think he will find a reason not to run. That will be a shame because running against him would be the best thing that could happen for Republicans.

I have to hope that he gets out of the race late and leaves little time for the opponent to really organize. Organization and vote rigging is what wins elections.

No candidate will be perfect. However, Perry seems to be below the threshold for which I can vote. No more lesser of two evils voting.

No point in going thru the election process then. He should be selected in advance just like McCain was. Sound the trumpets. Let the coronation begin.../s/

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

According to Wikiquote, this statement cannot definitely be assigned to either Lincoln or Barnum:

"This is probably the most famous of apparently apocryphal remarks attributed to Lincoln. Despite being cited variously as from an 1856 speech, or a September 1858 speech in Clinton, Illinois, there are no known contemporary records or accounts substantiating that he ever made the statement. The earliest known appearance is October 29, 1886 in the Milwaukee Daily Journal. It later appeared in the New York Times on August 26 and August 27, 1887. The saying was repeated several times in newspaper editorials later in 1887. In 1888 and, especially, 1889, the saying became commonplace, used in speeches, advertisements, and on portraits of Lincoln. In 1905 and later, there were attempts to find contemporaries of Lincoln who could recall Lincoln saying this. Historians have not, generally, found these accounts convincing. For more information see two articles in For the People: A Newsletter of the Abraham Lincoln Association, "'You Can Fool All of the People' Lincoln Never Said That", by Thomas F. Schwartz (V. 5, #4, Winter 2003, p. 1) and "A New Look at 'You Can Fool All of the People'" by David B. Parker (V. 7, #3, Autumn 2005, p. 1); also the talk page. The statement has also sometimes been attributed to P. T. Barnum, although no references to this have been found from the nineteenth century."

There is one variable we should never forget when making predictions - that of voter fraud. And, the Democrats do that better than any element of any society in the world.

There will be fraud, but it will not matter. I'll go out on a limb and predict a landslide on the order of 1980. Probably not qute as big because some states have been drinking liberal koolaid too long, but a major landslide nonetheless.

Good analysis.

I think that you need to get into the elections when the time is right.

For instance, in 08, there was a lot of clamor for Guliani to get in. He waited, and waited, and waited. Clamor got louder. Then, he skipped a bunch of primaries and the MSM had moved on to their next target. By the time he had showed up, he missed his window.

The time was right for Bachmann when she got in, ditto Perry. If Palin keeps dithering, she'll have missed her window.

FWIW, Rolling Stone did a really nasty hit piece on Bachmann. If the libs are that worried, she might be a serious player. I hope she is, but am not optimistic.

Also.....doubt that Obama will really win the Democrat nomination

I thought that for awhile, too. Figured that Hillary! would step aside as SoS awhile ago, then "reluctantly" allow herself to be "pressed into running". "For the good of the People (Party)", of course.

She hasn't done it yet, and time is slipping quick. Dunno who else the Dems would nominate.

In Perry’s own words he said he supports Mexico’s president Fox’s position on open US borders.

In Perry’s own words he said he supports Mexico’s president Fox’s position on open US borders at some point in the future when Mexico is prosperous and Mexicans have no need to cross the border for work. Much like what we have with Canada right now.

Amazing what happens when you keep reading.

Orson Welles said, "If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story."

There seems to be a lot of half-reporting going on, in order to arrive at the desired ending.
