Mr. Perry is George Bush 2, certainly better than Obama but not good. I will vote for Perry or for that matter Romney in the general if I have to but I would much rather vote for Palin, Bachman, or even Cain. I really wish Perry would have stayed out. The press will love him because of his immigration stand and they will hate him because he professes to be a Christian.
Mr. Perry has put Texas in big debt and dramatically increased state spending just the way Bush did. Bush was way better than any Democrat but he was not a good Republican president, we don't need 4 more years of Bush and that is what the press will say.
Winning a presidential election takes work. I personally don't believe you can get in a year before the election and expect to win. Regan couldn't do it that way and even though Romney had the money and organization last time he didn't succeed. Romney stayed in after the last election still working on it, he wants it bad enough to do the work. I think that makes a difference. I hope Bachman can beat Romney and Perry. Even thought I don't care for Romney I respect the fact that he is working hard for it and we have to be aware of that, I hope Buchanan knows how to overcome these two moderates and can make the difference we need.
Whomever wins the Republican nomination will be heads above whoever runs on the Democrat side. I doubt that Obama will really win the Democrat nomination, I think his inability to prove his eligibility this time will keep him out. I know that sounds silly but a few states are making it the only way he will be able to run. I think he will find a reason not to run. That will be a shame because running against him would be the best thing that could happen for Republicans.
I have to hope that he gets out of the race late and leaves little time for the opponent to really organize. Organization and vote rigging is what wins elections.
I think that you need to get into the elections when the time is right.
For instance, in 08, there was a lot of clamor for Guliani to get in. He waited, and waited, and waited. Clamor got louder. Then, he skipped a bunch of primaries and the MSM had moved on to their next target. By the time he had showed up, he missed his window.
The time was right for Bachmann when she got in, ditto Perry. If Palin keeps dithering, she'll have missed her window.
FWIW, Rolling Stone did a really nasty hit piece on Bachmann. If the libs are that worried, she might be a serious player. I hope she is, but am not optimistic.
