Man oh man. What is happening to our society? Where are all of these people coming from all of the sudden? People parking in Handicapped spots that walk completely fine and then pull down the placard as they drive away. Ignorant people that cut in line at the deli, amusement park or shows. Parents on cell phone calls as their crazed kids run around uncontrollably. I ain't perfect, nor am I one of those people that said "when I was young..." Because I feel a lot of these teens have more "manners" than most adults and younger kids. WTH is going on? There is no shame and when you confront these people they completely act as if you were not there and ignore you! I find it amazing and it is getting worse at an alarming rate. Does anyone else notice this?
You’ve brought up my Achilles heel in all this: I’ve paid so much in taxes “without representation” that if I could get food stamps, welfare, or anything else I’d happily take it and consider it a repayment of taxes incorrectly charged.
I think a lot of us feel that way. And if enough do it, our country will go down even faster.
>>...there is the welfare lady getting behind the drivers wheel of a BRAND NEW CADILLAC...<<
Well, to put it in perspective, Cadillacs ain’t what they used to be. ;-)
Yep. I call the US a “dead country walking”.
I have since before Urkel was elected.
That doesn't bother me, but when they add in the pregnant mother space, the quick take out spaces, the employee of the month spaces, the manager spaces, the it's my birthday spaces, the one remaining space gets filled up quickly.
>>I used to marvel at the upper body strength of people in wheelchairs.
Now, I marvel at the girth of people in scooters.<<
Well put.
I’m of the expectation that people want to care but I’m never surprised when I discover that very few people out there care about anything but themselves. I too find myself falling into that trap and to be honest, I find it harder and harder to get out of it lately. I fear that I’m turning into one of those people that I despise. People that let the door close on you, talk on their phones on line and in their cars at the green lights, people that are too busy to stop at lights and stop signs.. I could go on.
I think we need to move out to the country.
BTW, some days my excruciating pain makes it hard to walk (Dystonia) but i don’t take the placard because those spots are designed for people with wheelchairs and walkers. There are people that need those spaces more than me... what say you? That should be the criteria, reserved for those that OBVIOUSLY need it.... stop think about what I am entitled to, but what someone that is much worse off deserves. BTW, I see war vets with one leg parking in spots where I usually park. It is a matter of “no shame” and “entitlement” any more.
Next time you see someone get out of their car in a Handicapped spot while talking on the cell phone and telling her caller to “talk to the hand”.... I am sure your “judgement” will side with mine.
All you need to do is go to large gathering of people and look around.
Most are obese, weak, lazy, stupid, and oblivious.
The men are mostly pussified panzies, in flip flops and sandles, and not an ounce of muscle.
The women are shallow pofs more concerned with their nails, hair, and purse than anything else.
Sure there are many great people, but the trend is towards collapse.
I want to vomit at all the disgusting fat slobs all over the place. Its embarassing as a nation how slovenly and obese we are.
"Cafeteria citzens" who pick and choose which laws and rules to obey. That started in the 60s with the Lib campus "civil disobedience" organizations that pushed the theory that it was 'okay', or even obligatory, to ignore an 'immoral' law or regulation.
The, "I'm not sorry I did what I did, but I 'apologize' for you being so danged sensitive that it offended you to hear about it," non-apology was popularized by Clinton, and accepted by the media; then adopted by other public figures.
>>I think it is the later.<<
I think it is both. Three words: Adult Onset Diabetes. And it is caused by lifestyle. It is similar to cancer caused by smoking, or Aids for homosexuals. And diet kills (and maims - losing limbs) more people than the latter two.
dont forget rude
I managed to take the plate away from her (the parents were doing nothing).
After they left the store other patrons were commenting about the parents making a rod for their own back..etc.
However the episode was not over......dad came back and told me I had no right to interfere - his daughter was just "expressing herself" and he would have paid for whatever she broke. No mention of the consequences for the child or my store if the plate had broken in her hand.
Sometimes wonder how that little darling (now about 20 years old) "expresses herself".
>>Using the disable parking spaces when the disabled person to whom the placard was issued is not present is a parking violation subject to a nasty fine.<<
That is why you should ALWAYS walk with a limp when you leave your car. You never know when some busybody is gonna call a cop and they’re waiting for you when you come out. Forget that the busybody turns in people who legitimately need it. Just sayin’.
I only use handicapped spaces when I’m waiting for someone in the store. I do it all the time, but only if there are other handicapped stalls open. I’m a “spirit of the law” sort of guy.
Short of the handicap spots mandated by the state. The pregnant mother space, the quick take out spaces, the employee of the month spaces, the manager spaces, the it’s my birthday spaces are fair game ;)
(if it does not say you can be towed. can they tow your car?)
>>Utah was cleanest with nice folks and happy looking families and breeding gals and dads who looked like dads
Its the culture...I like it<<
Christianity is about two things: Man’s relationship with man, and man’s relationship with God. The Mormons have the former down to a science. :-)
I have some relatives who are the most worthless humans ever...
They came from LBJs Great Society, a war on poverty that has cost more than any real war this country has fought - combined! A war that has permanently entrenched its EBT and EITC 'warriors' ready to demonstrate and complain at the drop of a hat.
They came from the mouths of Democrat Politicians who spake "We want all Americans to get their fair share" [loosely translated as "if you vote for us we will give you free shit.]
They came from over 50 years of Democrat politicians and American-hating leftist groups (NOW, ACLU, NAACP, GREENPEACE, PLANNED PARENTHOOD-ha!, AFLCIO, TEAMSTERS, SEIU, it goes on and on) telling lazy Americans that you are a victim and you deserve to be compensated for it even if you actually weren't discriminated against - just your ancestors.....or you're queer and people don't like you, or you murdered your unborn baby, or you are just plain effing stupid or morbidly obese.
They came from a similar history of this country (both Democrat and do-gooder Republicans) overcrowding this country with legal immigrants who touch down here ready with their go-to list of applying for benefits for themselves and for their extended elder family members.. Simultaneously, they IGNORE scores of millions of illegals invading this country, polluting its heritage and raping its human benefits organizations and state/city coffers.
It won't stop until those of left that still can vote sanely start realizing we don't need illegals, we don't even need any more legal immigration, really. And, we damned sure don't need to feeding and providing for lazy no-goods who will only raise another generation of users and likely criminals - all who can still vote.
I know there may be ADA requirements vis-a-vis square footage but some lots have so many handicap spots (usually all empty) that I say ‘If everyone in a wheelchair showed up to fill the spots and went inside you wouldn’t be able to squeeze into the store.’
>>The ones I truly fear are passionate ignorant people.<<
I call it “arrogant ignorance”. I see a lot of it in comments on youtube videos. It would be comical if it were not so serious.
