My eyes just about bugged out of my head when I saw a post about this on AmericaBlog. Of course they popped out when Anderson Cooper and Matt Drudge made the list in years past. Maybe since the word "gay" isn't in the official top 50 list, they can't get sued? But then, the truth is a defense in a libel case, and telling the truth really can't be defamation either, right? And I'd have to think that Out Magazine must be pretty sure about the orientation of the people they picked. And Shepard placed sixth! Welcome to the club, Shep.

Don’t forget Rock Hudson and Gomer Pyle.
LOL. Amen.
We used to call it a "toaster".
That hideous hat self-outed Matt a long time ago.

He’s got a great voice, but how is Adam Lambert so influential??
And why are the top two gays in our country not getting any coverage? Barack and Hillary still too closeted? That makes the list a little phony, doesn’t it?
I agree. One of the best people I’ve ever worked with was a man who was homosexual, but kept his private life private. He would talk about it if asked, but did not flaunt—he was just there to work, and he did his job well.
What?! Liberace was as queer as a seven dollar bill!
Frankly, Freddie Mercury is more influential than Adam Lambert, and he isn’t American and has been dead for nearly 20 years.
Well, maybe Liberace,But not George! What’s next? Calling Rock Hudson gay too?
Wow! He looks better than Michelle and Hillary!
Forgive me, but I always suspected Shep as being gay. I never said it to anybody outside of my household, never met him any harm, but always suspected.
I do not care for his politics, could never understand why he would warrant 8 million bucks a year.
No surprises there.
Christine QuinnA friend of men thinks this person and Mike Bloomberg took Representative Weiner down and then down again.
SPEAKER OF THE NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL, 44The first woman and first openly gay person to hold this plum political position, Quinn continues to speak her mind on hot-button issues like the proposed 9/11 mosque and her quest to see gay marriage legalized in the Empire State. This year she went so far as to request that the city clerks office inform same-sex couples that they can legally wed in other states -- and have their marriage recognized in New York -- when they apply for domestic partnerships. Proof? If she runs for Mayor and wins.
Where was Lindsey Graham on the list?
Is that Jack Webb in the picture?
I don't believe that for a second.
I've listened to him on radio, and watched him in television interviews, and I've never seen (or heard) the slightest indication that he's gay. In fact, he reads exactly the opposite to me.
Can anybody explain why you see a lot of pictures of gay men with their mouth wide open?
"I don't make up the gay rulebook. You have a problem with it? Take it up with Liberace's ghost!"
Hasn’t Drudge been openly homosexual for years?
