Someone please explain. Name me one conservative principle he stands for and has stood for through the years. I get that people like seeing him slap around Obama and push the birther issue. But why make excuses for the fact that he's moderate to liberal? He's given lots of money to Democrats, called George Bush evil and said Nancy Pelosi should have impeached him. He's advocated for universal healthcare and supported a wealth tax. He's trashed Paul Ryan's budget and thinks slapping a tariff on China will solve our entitlement problems.
The guy is not a conservative. Why are so many on Free Republic shilling for him? Where was Trump during the 2010 election? Which tea party candidates did he support? The answer is zip zero nada. He gave money to Harry Reid not Sharron Angle. He gave money to Charlie Crist not Marco Rubio. But now the narrative is he's a tea party conservative bucking the Republican establishment? Oh please pass me a bucket. Do people not believe that a solid conservative can beat Obama? Do people here believe we need to run a moderate to beat Obama? Didn't we try that two years ago with John McCain? Aren't we trying to avoid that this year by not supporting Romney? Can anyone really say that Trump is more conservative than Romney?
Oh and before anyone asks who do YOU support, I love Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain. And I hope Paul Ryan changes his mind and decides to run. Also if Alan West or Marco Rubio decided to get in the game I could support either one of them too.
Rush is not saying Trump will not run. Rush is starting to warn about Trump’s “populism”.
It’s not about him keeping quiet. It’s about Conservatives excusing away his liberalism, or worse portraying him as a conservative.
I said conservatives. You just gave me a list of politicians.
Case in point the Left and Obama.
Look at Trump’s children...
Compare them to the filthy children of the beltway in the Demo-publican party...
I don’t care what you consider “conservative.”
I will measure the man by his kids and how he raises them.
As he should. Someone besides Mark Levin needs to do it.

I’m not stunned at all. I think people who don’t take politics seriously think Trump would be a good candidate. There are also people who like Trump because he has the marbles to ask the questions that “real” Conservatives won’t. I tend to fall in that catagory.
Would I back him in a primary? Yes, if my choices were limited, as they well might be. So far I am quite unimpressed with ANY of the probable GOP candidates. Cain seems good, West seems better, but I don’t see them running or getting anywhere if they do.
I would LOVE to have a Conservative to vote for who is honest, has a pair, and who knows at least a bit, about what our Constitution means. I don’t see that candidate on the horizon at the moment.
So, if Trump runs, I could vote for him. He is at best a horrible Republican, and isn’t Conservative, but he does ask a few questions that need to be asked, and that’s more than most of the other potential candidates have asked, and they’ve had years to ask questions but never did.
I’d rather have a horrible republican to vote for, who has a spine, than have a “good” republican who doesn’t.
Last time I checked Mitt Romney had a nice family. Will you be supporting him too?
He keeps saying things like "when I make my announcement you are going to be very surprised."
But mostly he came out early saying that he was for universal health care. He said "I'm a conservative guy but I'm a liberal on this."
Personally I'm convinced he's going to make the case that 0bama is way too liberal, and the pubbies are way too conservative, and only responsible "flexible" middle-of-the-road people like he and Hillary can get the job done.
He's going to split the middle and take the independent and moderate vote and bet that it is enough because people are sick of both parties.
That's my working theory and I'm sticking to it.
If you want the best example of GOP wimpiness, the democratsm top leaders were calling George W Bush a racist murderer over Katrina! Not in code either. GWB’s response was to fold his hands demurely and say he could have done a better job. How noble. /s
If you listen to Karl Rove now he barely can say “Oh yeah, we could have done a better job defending ourselves”.
The democrats give us issues on a silver platter, tell us we better not use them, and republicans say “TY sir, may I have another?”
I`ve been asking that for weeks. Romney and Huckabee have more conservative stances overall, but scores of FReepers are bonkers over TrumpenRino. That arrogant, bullying POS will never get my vote.
Let me sum up my position with a side of tongue and cheek: ANYBODY BUT THE ANNOINTEDIDIOT! =.=
Only Kirk could go to Klingon.
Only Trump could call out Obama.
thanks for the link...the wheel keeps turning..
We just want to hear someone dump on the administration instead of tearing up and compromising.
I despise romney... but if he started questioning obama’s communist ideology or pointing out that he attended Easter in a racist Church or that obama ate Thanksgiving dinner with Farrakhan in 2009... well I'd pat him on the back and give him well deserved kudos... but I would never vote for him or support him for office... even for dog catcher.

I'm not sure what you mean about FR "shilling". Here is my last post on the subject:
Ya gotta love Trump. He at least has some stones. I hope he keeps picking at Obama. Obama is really messed up in the head. You can tell every time he speakes off the cuff. He has some issues between those big ears.
With that said let us keep in mind the past. If Trump comes anywhere near sounding like Heres da deal or Can I tawk Larry? Can I tawk? or A water moccassin aint a duck! Iz so simple! then lets drop him like a rock if he goes third party. Been there! Done that!
