Many students believe that it is moral to confiscate money from hard-working Americans and entrepreneurs and give it to those who didn't earn it, yet don't support the same philosophy when it is applied to their GPA scores.
Here are some of the responses we got when asking students to sign a petition call for GPA redistribution:
Oh this is brilliant!
The comments are hilarious!
For years I have been using this exact analogy - redistribution of school grades - to educate my own kids and other young people on how socialism works. Gets the point across with crystal clarity.
This is one hundred percent on the money.. as it were.. Awesome.
We wonder if those students understand that the redistribution of wealth is the equivalent to the redistribution of GPA scores? You punish the successful and reward the failures. Our tax system has been doing that for years.
A fellow Freeper used Xtranormal to do this video.. (sickoflibs)
A Liberal Democrat explains the why the Social Security Trust Fund is safe
Great! Same with faculty tenure, writing NYT columns, etc, Mao was right, just the whole cultural revolution.
One other point, a question that should have been asked of these students: Is mommy and Daddy paying for you to go to school?
bttt
Ah, but you don’t understand. A person earns a high GPA by hard work and performance, whereas high income is earned by hard work and performance. They aren’t alike. GPA and income are entirely different...
I’m not a big fan of those computer generated videos. They strike me as stooping to the level of liberals who stereotype conservatives in the worst way possible, while trying to pass off their insulting stereotypes as the truth (e.g. the Democrats’ refusal to make sensible cuts to spending while claiming that those cuts will prevent women from getting healthcare and starve seniors).
I’m all for videos showing actual liberals spew actual idiocy. It’s the putting words in their mouths that I object to.
Yeah it was funny listening to those kids try to explain why GPA redistribution is somehow different than doing it with earned income. The only thing some commentors could come up with was that it’s different because “GPA maxes out at 4.0 but money doesn’t”? Not only is that argument false (money is NOT infinite and it is not possible for one person to acquire all of it), it’s just plain stupid and does nothing to counter the perfection of the analogy.
Well, that is entirely reasonable. But, on the other side, by reflecting their ideas and not just giving the counter arguments, you are actually creating communication.
Skulls full of mush ping
They keep talking about “GPA maxes out, income doesn’t” and “GPA doesn’t buy food, etc...”
Well, it kinda does actually...better grades = better opportunities for income, so taking your GPA down lessens your opportunities in the future. Indirectly, but still...
There is a reason we call them ‘students’.
Thanks for all the feedback. Please share the video with your friends!
Very good job. Next, you need to get your Student Council to vote on a vote redistribution plan to ensure “free and just” elections.
