Michelle Obama is often lauded for her approachable fashion sense that mixes high-end designers with recognizable mall favorites like J.Crew. And earlier this week, the First Lady made an appearance on NBC’s Today Show outfitted in a $34.95 dress from none other than H&M! Never shying away from bold colors, Mrs. Obama gave her navy-and-white print a personal touch by adding an orange obi-style belt and pairing it with bright yellow pumps. And while she has an affinity for arm-baring styles, her stylist took a different approach with this ruffle-front dress, customizing it by adding sleeves

wedish retail-clothing company, H & M, is very cost-conscious cutting out the middleman, doing their own design and production; fall saw trench coats for $20, dresses that cost less than $5. Just in case you are still looking for a job......still.

Plus, they are starting an advertising campaign, the Conscious collection of using greener materials, as well as taking the scraps left over from the Big designer house cutting room floors and recycling.

Sweaters are often not stitched around sliced button holes..so will not always remain closed. Keeps the cost down on such garb.

So $35 now..soon more affordable at $15 at mark down.

BTW,Did anyone ask how much her shoes cost!

Typical H & M model, perhaps The First Lady is trying to attract "an older crowd" to H & M. Madonna, Jimmy Choo, Stella McCartney most well known for using their designs or celebritydom in sales.

March of 2010, the H & M was criticized by pro-Palestinian groups [United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict] for opening its first stores in Israel highlighting Israel's alleged violations of international laws-"to that of fashion, investments and commerce." Boycott campaigns were held regularly outside company stores. I wonder if this will awaken some Palestine vs. Israel feelings again with the First Lady touting H & M.

Either the orange belt or the yellow shoes might have looked fine, ALONE. Together, they just look clownish.

Is this cow color blind? Good grief! Every time this hulking behemoth appears in public, she finds new and appalling ways to embarrass herself and the country she supposedly represents. I am adamently opposed to women being required to wear burquas but in her case I would make an exception.

If you looked like Moochelle, would you REALLY want to look at yourself in a mirror?

I am old and fat, but manage not to frighten the horses in the street. This cannot be said about our first example of how not to upset the fauna.

Mooshell, call me quick. I will tell you what not to wear! Have you ever checked with your mother, dear? She could give you a few tips, if she hasn’t fainted dead away at this last “get-up” you threw together.

Nothing ladylike about Michelle and the way she sits. After two years in the WH hasn’t anyone told her how to be more refined? What a completly uncouth woman she is. And, she cannot be at all comfortable with that boob belt wrapped under her breasts and looking like it is cutting off circulation. But, I guess that belt is the only way she feels people will know she even has boobs. Poor thing, I can’t fault her for her strange figure...but I can for the strange way she dresses it. No taste at all. It is so obvious that she dresses for attention and shock. But the attention is to the areas she should try to downplay.

Nice matching shoes and boob-belt if you’re totally colored-blind.

I used to could laugh at that awful pic of michelle. Now it almost makes me throw up. I guess you shouldn’t view threads of her right after eating.

Oh, how much did that cost?

That's what I wondered. Most likely, she turned a $35 dress into a $350 dress. That's $70 for two dresses. (One for the fabric to make sleeves out of), one hour of a designer's time at $200 per hour, one hour for a pattern maker to draw up the pattern, at $50 per hour, and one hour for a seamstress to cut and sew the sleeves, at $30 per hour. I'm just guessing at how much these people charge, but I'm betting my estimate is way low.

OMG. Isn’t she quite the innovator? The boob belt has morphed from the edgy tire tread and metal stud version to cheap colored polystyrene. Is Day Glo in again? Who knew? I remember years ago my daughter had Barbies with those ugly shoes.
