A WIFE filed for divorce just a month after her wedding because her husband insisted his mother came on the honeymoon.

Beautician Marianna, 36, who can only be identified by her first name because of Italian privacy laws, thought she was free of her suffocating mother-in-law after a lavish church ceremony in Rome.

But 39-year-old Stefano, a salesman, had secretly booked his mother into the same five-star Paris hotel. The first Marianna knew about it was when the woman turned up at the airport.

The wife’s lawyer Giacinto Canzona said: “She wants a divorce because of her husband’s excessive emotional attachment to his mother.

Now THIS would be grounds for beheading, in my book.

Of the mother-in-law.

We've been searching, high and low. The waiting lists are so long. She has enough money to get into these places, but screams about the prices.

She was living in the Bronx with family from her husbands side (the one she married after abandoning us)....everything was honkey dorey until my pathetic nephew convinced her to move to Florida w/ him, his baby and baby momma to help pay for this “dream home”.

They booted her out 3 weeks later, which is how she wound up with me. She is a compulsive liar, so getting a straight story from her is impossible (we were not raised by her, she left us when I was 3).

The 1st gathering of us and her was an “Oprah” moment...only thing Oprah didn't do was follow up on the consequences of such “reunions”.

However, she is an elder, so we can't just leave her. We'll keep trying to get her on her own, which she fights tooth and nail, but we have no choice, for our own sanity as well as our family.

Somehow, I don't think that this was what that now-pulled thread that I posted earlier had in mind.

Why not ... doesn’t Michelle’s mother have a free room in the White House?

A recent study showed Italy has the highest number of mature men still living with their parents.

That's essentially an oxymoron.

This guy needs to count his lucky stars to be rid of this witch.

He's supposed to leave her when he gets married.

Blame!? I’d heartily support this entirely rational action on her part. No blame here whatsoever, at least for her. He’s another story . . .

The bigger warning sign that the marriage is doomed, is the lying he did.

He SECRETLY booked a room for his mother.

HUGE red flag on many fronts.

Until my Italian friend’s mother passed away, he was living just a few blocks from her. I believe the Italian expression is “mammoni’ and it loosely means mamma’s boy.

I have known so many mammoni from Italy, there seem to be very few other types of men. Although many Italian-American families follow this tradition, it’s generally not as pronounced. Two friends, Martino from Milano and Fabio from Assisi, remind me of the guy in this report. Fortunately, their wives put up with the mothers-in-law because they took over baby-sitting and cooking tasks.

Did you find out about the uncles before or after you married her?...

I was young and dumb and full of c— so it didn’t bother me.

They lived NY, where we had grown up, and I was in the service going all over.

“I couldn’t imagine this. I could not wait to leave the crazy people, AKA my parents.”

Exactly. I paid enough dues trying to recover my life after the carp that went on when I was a child at home. I thank God I have been able to get past that period of my life. For those of you who have been blessed with nurturing parents that did not abuse you, be thankful and please don't judge those of us who need to keep distance from our families of origin.
