"What ever happened to that voice in the back of ones head that is supposed to say,
"BAD IDEA!"
Watch when I get home later ping
This video leaves one with many questions. First off I could not help but wonder why this guy decided it would be a great idea to jump off the dock and into a frozen pond. Then after he decided it would be a great idea, why would he have friends video him? I guess he really wanted the world to know how stupid he is.

Apparently it has been silenced by the voice that says, “Hey, this could get on America’s Funniest Home Videos or Youtube!”
He died?
***”What ever happened to that voice in the back of ones head that is supposed to say,

It was drowned out by the voice that said, “Hold my beer and watch this.”
Advice from my grandpa, passed along to my kids:
“Don’t do anything stupid. And if you have to ask yourself whether or not it’s stupid, it’s stupid.”
Looks like he was just joining the polar bear club. There’s a good chance he knew just how deep the water was and obviously he was expecting to go through the ice. They had a rope ready. He’s well-insulated. So except for the ice being a wee bit too thick, maybe he really wasn’t all that dumb.
Childhood is so protected now that children are not allowed to make any mistakes where they get hurt or take risks. Children raised now are way different than those raised just in the 50’s and 60’s where if you did something stupid you really got hurt. It made kids grow up coordinated and smart...they were not sitting in front of tv or video games...they were learning about environment and physics and practicing using their bodies in real world senarios.
Take for instance, teeter-totters. You really got hurt on those things but you became smarter because of it and had more common sense and attention to detail. You needed to to survive. Lawyers have ruined childhood and OSHA type government interference prevents parents from doing what is in their child’s best interest....we are forced to do the “right” thing for the lowest common denominator—otherwise, lawyers sue.
Now idiots don’t die because they do something stupid. They aren’t allowed to do anything and if it IS slightly dangerous, they are covered head to toe in protective gear.....Maybe, the Darwin thing did contain an element of truth-—about adaptation to environment.
I guess people that live where lakes don’t freeze solid for four months can leave their docks in in the winter.
The Darwin Awards has very explicit rules enumerated on the History and Rules page, wherein may be found the Reproduction clause which states (in part):
The candidate must remove herself from the gene pool. The prime tenet of the Darwin Awards is that we are celebrating the self-removal
of incompetent genetic material from the human race. Therefore, the potential winner
must be deceased, or at least incapable of reproducing. The traditional method is death.
However, an occasional rebel opts for sterilization, which allows her more time to enjoy
the dubious notoriety of winning a Darwin Award. If someone manages to survive an incredibly stupid feat, then her genes de facto
must have something to offer in the way of luck, agility, or stamina. She is therefore
not eligible for a Darwin Award, but sometimes the story is too entertaining to pass up,
and she earns an Honorable Mention.
Flash video. Wish my new iPad could display it.
You know this would have been really funny if he had been texting when he walked off the dock.
He is lucky to walk away from that.
Wait OneVike,
I think that is one of my wifes’ relatives.
