Hate to tell you this, but American companies hire millions of foreigners from China, Russia, India, Pakistan, etc. on work visas and the various presidential administrations alawys push for more. Clinton, Bush, and Obama have all demanded more and more foreign technology workers. I know all kinds of them that are illegal aliens now as they have stayed past their visa. I bet if you added up their financial take they dwarf the Mexican illegal aliens by far. I also know of Chinese and Russian workers that have fed their native country companies trade secrets, yet, their host companies stupidly believe they are protected because these foreigners signed non-disclosure agreements. I have actually sat in on international intellectual property rights training session while a Russian was emailing his handler in Russia about an upcoming product
release. Frankly, this country doesn’t deserve to exist anymore, we are just too stupid to live.

The Russians haven’t innovated anything in aviation!! Their designs have been rip-offs since WWII. Check out TU-2 or their “space shuttle”.

And where, exactly, is today's air combat taking place? Last I checked there hasn't been a real air war since Viet Nam if not Korea or WWI before that.

That is precisely why there have been no air wars.
The Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH, has an F-16 sitting right next to a MIG 29. The difference in craftsmanship is striking and evident from 20 yards away, even to someone with little or no aeronautical knowledge. Some of the German stuff from WWII looks better made than that Russian POS.
No, they used a canard because the designers who copied this aircraft from American designs don't understand how to combine high speed performance with low speed, high angle of attack handling. It is a design compromise based on handling, plain and simple.

No offense, but you’re a complete moron. The only resemblance between the Raptor and the Foxbat is that they’re high wing monoplanes with the same number of vertical stabs. If we’re going by that measure, you guys must have stolen the J-10 from the design of the P-51. Both are low-wing fighters with one vertical stab.
Seriously, though, if they had the Raptor plans they would have copied the variable geomotry nozzles.
Their last fighter, the J-10, looks just like the Typhoon. I suspect two fighters in a row that look like the latest Western jet is not a coincidence. Their next ground attack plane will probably be a copy of the F-35.

An F-16 (aerodynamically speaking) is a world apart, generations, generations ahead of anything like the MiG-29.
