President Obama has all but quit smoking, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Thursday after the surgeon general issued a report on the health risks of tobacco as part of the administration’s anti-smoking campaign.

This is one extravagance I would have no problem paying my taxes to support. I’d even send him a couple cartons of Camel straights.
As a former smoker who has ‘quit’ many times, I can personally tell you that you either quit smoking or you have not quit smoking. There is no in between. Sort of like being pregnant or not being pregnant - there is no middle ground.
Since yesterday?
He didn't even quit since yesterday. He "all but quit."

They’ve all but lyin’ about it, too.
“All but quit.” I’m an off again, on again smoker. One cig and I am back to addicted with sudden, very hard to control cravings. In a week, I’m back to a pack a day. This statement is laughable to anyone that has ever struggled to quit.
It’s like the guy who’s almost stopped beating his wife. Gotta give him credit, right?
I’m telling you, I put ‘quit’ in there and it got pulled out.
Reminds me....I need to pick up another pack on the way home so all the SCHIP kids can get their free healthcare.
