I am starting a project and want to know if someone would like to help me do it. Once started we can develop a reset button for this economic structure.
I was allergic to work, once. And here I am...
Aiiiii... Drive carefully!
Fortunately lutefisk-town is many miles from here. Just east and north of the Lenin statue.

“Somehow I can’t help but feel partially responsible” -Roadtrip claymation cartoon.
Naw. These are just from the warmth of the air, which keeps the asphalt soft, and the rain, which lifts the oil off the soft asphalt. Folks tailgate, see tail-lights bright ahead and try to stop. They hydraplane on the lifted oil and smash the vehicle(s) in front of them.
They are the same ones who see rushing water over the road and say, “I’ve been down this street 1,000 times! Piece of cake!” And end up calling 911 about a mile downstream.
We (Las Vegas) try to educate the newcomers but they seem to think it doesn’t apply to them.
A change of seasons is no guarantee that road conditions are any safer than any other season.
And now I’m seeing “Innsmouth” from Lovecraft in relation to Lutefisk and some horrible invasion from beyond.
This may be allergic to travel. Since so much of my job is travel it might be considered allergic to work.
That would be my guess...
“They are the same ones who see rushing water over the road and say, Ive been down this street 1,000 times! Piece of cake! And end up calling 911 about a mile downstream.”
Thankfully we only have that happen once in a blue moon.
But they usually end up dead instead, especilly since they repeatedly ignore the instructions of the rescuers.
We had some flooding here awhile back, and a certain road had a creek end up a massie fire hose of water.
Well, this moron comes through to pick her daughter up from working the hotel, and she ignored the firemen because aftetr all she had a four wheel drive.
On her way back, she floored it around teh firemen again, and got swept off the road.
The firemen told her to stay in the vehicle, and she got out instead.
Short: She repeatedly did the opposite of what the firemen said.
Dummy daughter tried to sue because the firemen didn’t rescue her mom.
Yes, brilliant mom didn’t make it.
Then I had to book the Las Vegas trip.
We have a lot of that here, and in AZ. That’s why we also have the “Stupid Driver” laws. You ignore the signs/warnings and end up calling 911 to bail you out, you not only get a ticket, but you pay the rescue costs. That seems to defer any suits, since most of it is on tape of some kind.
Ah. I’m sorry. January is right around the corner, isn’t it? Can we do lunch? :o])
8 hours until the eclipse, cloudy skies and rain. Oh well.
New York has some small measure of that, but the ticketing officer has to see you ignore the sign.
The Lawyers here are vicious.
That will be between 0230 and 0353 my time in my area.
And there will be plenty of accidents because of it.
Clear and 28 here. It will have to Eclipse without me.
In NV and AZ, there is no excuse, as the Regional Flood Control District literally floods the airways with alerts and warnings about driving into unsafe conditions. There is even a contest in July thru Sept to come up with a slogan that will fit on a license plate, to avoid the floods. The prize? A billboard display of the winner and the actual license plate for your car.
The flashfloods here are not only swift-moving, but most are ice-cold, rendering the perps almost unconscious within a few minutes of the call to 911.
The lawyers here are multitudinous and most are ambulance chasers, so “victims” better hope they weren’t caught on tape.
I would have to go to Nogales, AZ to see the eclipse, I’m sure. Cloud cover, here. Rain. LOTS of rain.
Well, it's late January so I'm home for 5 weeks yet.
I am seriously going to have to check my meeting schedule, once it's posted, because it is BUSY.
That's what today's call was about actually. The current chairman is trying to finalize the working group meeting schedule. My group was causing him problems through a misunderstanding of my requirements, and an unscheduled additional meeting that was threatening to overlap it. I did this for four years, so I know what he's going through and it's not fun.
Ugh. Lessee.. Thursday I can't because I'm in an all-day meeting. Friday through Sunday might be possible, depending on meeting schedules. Monday and Tuesday I can't because of back-to-back AND overlapping meetings. (That used to be wind-down time for me; no more.) And then I'm on my way home.
OMG, I just looked at my schedule. After that I'm home again for nearly two months! I've not been contacted about speaking at a conference in Baltimore mid-March, and I'm not expecting to attend a trade show in Frankfurt at the same time. So the next is probably Nashville end of March.
Nope. That meeting is certain to be preceded by another meeting, not yet called, a couple of weeks or so in advance. I'll be sort of in D.C.'s area, in Minneapolis. Oh well.
So how are YOU doing, ‘Face?
