They are normally used to catching the odd mouse and avoiding the neighbours' dog.
But this cat doesn't seem to be at all bothered by his latest foes - two huge alligators.
Reportedly filmed on a farm in Louisiana, this black cat stalked and stared out his enemies before successfully forcing them to both return to the lake.
Ready for battle: The cat gets set to attack the alligator at the Louisiana farm
Take that! Realising his chance, the cat lashes out at the alligator with his left paw
On the retreat: Facing up against the brave cat is too much for the alligator and he returns to the lake
Two's a crowd: The cat again uses his trusty left paw to fight off a second reptile
Backing off: Both animals keep their distance as the cat stalks his territory

Obviously a feline of the Viking variety.
"crazy cousin "Lucky" is off his meds"
Looks like a Maine Coon cat, they don’t back down, they are pretty aloof and mostly very confident of almost anything.
And they always win in a catfight.
Looks like it might have some Russian or other kind of Blue in it. They’re smart little killers. I have one and you can’t “play” with it because one toss of the string or toy and it’s already got it floored with its claws. And it knows to go for the source of the string waving - your hand.
MIght be FR offical Viking Kitty or cousin of that cat LOL!
Palin kitty.
I had a couple over the years, poly-dactyl inbreeding cause some of them to have splayed paws, and for all appearance and to a large extent an opposable looking thumb, I’m not kidding they would hold something just like they had a human hand.
Climbing? Like they had a rocket under them.
I used to have scratches on my hands sometimes after ‘playing’ with my old big black cat. At work someone would ask about the marks. I told them, “I was playing with my cat...but my cat doesn’t play.” LOL
It is just that the alligators were not hungry at the time.
My mom had a Blue Russian when I was a kid. You ain’t kidding you can’t really play with them...they think you are the lunch after the appetizer of the “toy”.
I don’t think any animal knows what size it actually is. I had a toy fox terrier terrify my 300lb mastiff, those 4 chihuahuas cornered that mountain lion in the garage, this cat runs off two alligators.
I’ve had 3 lb hens kick my ass when trying to put feed and water near their brood, tiny hornets terrorize me until either a cap or a spray of raid evens it up, I’ve seen bluejays and mockingbirds beat the ***t out of big cats.
Guess it’s all in the attitude.
You betcha!
My tiny dog used to chase German Shepherds that were nearly 10 times her size out of the yard.
Well, obviously these gators weren’t hungry or agressive. Note the dude standing less than two feet away from them.
agreed... if them gators were hungry, they would not be showing that video!
LOL!
Agreed. If it's true that this video was shot at a commercial alligator farm, then I would imagine that the owners are feeding their livestock properly just as any other farmer does. It's in everyone's best interest that the livestock is well fed and therefore not quite as aggressive as they might be out in the wild.
On an Australian vacation I visited an "Animal Park" (Zoo) that featured "fearsome crocs....watch them being fed!". The 'croc show' I went to was in the afternoon, probably the last of several shows for the day. By that time the crocs had probably been fed several times and simply had enough to eat....the chicken dangling in front of their noses was completely uninteresting to them. The handler hit a croc on its back with a rake to get it to open its mouth in alarm, whereupon the handler stuffed the chicken into its mouth. There the croc sat, for the rest of the afternoon, with the chicken in its jaws.....too lazy to either eat it or spit it out.
Similarly at Sea World in Florida the diver had to chase a big shark around the tank, finally cornered him and stuffed some food into its mouth.
That being said, I still thnk that this kitty is lucky....there's no telling what a gator will do when he's presented by a growling cat so close by who is tryng to scratch him.
