I know, I know, another vanity, but...
I've been lurking here since '03, [and signed up in '08] and I can't remember another time when so many trolls were on FR.
Am I off here, or or is FR directly over the target?
BTW MOD, DON'T ZOT ME!
Could you please honor us with a link? Obviously, I missed the pest control thread...
Nice kitty, nice kitty...
2) Rob we have Catholic priests that post ... Awwwww.... guess what, Sparky? They're citizens of these United States, same as you. Live with it. Guess what else, Sunshine? We have Protestant ministers that post and "monitor" threads here, too. I notice you fail to mention them. Perhaps your ire is a little ... lopsided?
3) Again, nobody has a gun to your head, forcing you to read any particular thread.
It is nice to get insulted once in a while because I am from NYC and people i know now are too damn nice all the time.
I miss all the fun...”sigh”
Yeah, the Mormon ones seemed to die out. I think the fact that there are so many of us anti-mormons that are well versed in the tenets of their organization vs Christianity that they tend to back off now.
My wife is ex-catholic. We both have pretty strong feelings and beliefs on that group as well but we don’t go quite as far as to call it “non-Christian”. My mother in law in the Chicago area is sure proud of their new church building though. It’s really huge, considering it would probably only hold maybe a thousand in the congregation, if that.
On a side note, I went there with them once for mass, and as everyone was leaving the church, I was wondering around examining all the fixtures and I went up on the front page and was examining and touching everything. My wife’s family was beside themselves, I later learned. Apparently you don’t do that.
In the protestant churches I have attended, the whole place is just a building. Nothing is off limits, except private offices, when the doors are closed.
Oh, and women are not allowed in the men’s room, and vice versa.
“Actually a lot of them lost their license to drive last night.”
Care to share some details.
What is actually meant by “trolls” anyway? Is it the guys pimping blogs?
Tase him, Bro.
“Anyone of note get the ZOT?”
Apparently it’s still going on. You can go here: http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/by:jimrobinson/index?tab=comments;brevity=full;options=no-change
and just start reading.

There is a reason I ask. On freerepublic, one is generally expected to create a thread by posting some interesting article, as opposed to creating a vanity. Yet at other sites, the former activity is LITERALLY called trolling.
That's interesting to know. I wondered why the mormons here were so cranky. My experince growing up in a 40% mormon community was very positive indeed. There didn't appear to be a lot of infighting, at least to us outside the mormon church.
Wow ... how generous of you ...
See post 17. The attempted co-opting of the Tea Party [planted by Politico this week] by the Log Cabin Republicans and the so-called "fiscal" conservatives set it off.
It's time to weed out the sissies!
There’s action here too:

Tea Party Activists Tell Republicans to Avoid Abortion
Hey ab, I also get to voice my thoughts here too, in case you missed that email.
And the Catholic theads wouldn’t be so bad except for the idiots that believe it is the one true and only church.
There certainly is a lot of flak on many threads. Not sure it’s trolls. Could be we are all exhausted, apprehensive and not sure where to pick our next fight, so we practice on each other.
It’s good to see Lurkers become Newbies and sad to lose old FRiends over carelessness and temper tantrums. I try to avoid trash typing - coming and going.
IMHO there are fewer responses on threads than a few years ago and I still miss the ‘views’. Hard to judge how much interest certain threads are generating. Not all FReepers post opinions if someone has already made a cogent comment.
Think I’ll fix supper now;)
No. Bloggers can post on the bloggers forum. JimRobs problem seems to be with social liberals/libertarians. The whole issue of gay rights seems to be at the core but that's just a guess from some of the things he's said.
From Wikipedia-
In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional responseor of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
