I nearly choked on my coffee when I read that Obama thinks Pelosi will go down as one of the finest speakers in the U.S. Whatever he's drinking I don't want any. It makes people delusional. Reid must drink the same. Why else would he think that "but for him" we'd be in a depression?
Nowadays, I don't take anything for granted....
I check closely my fruits and vegetables...(Publix is selling limes from Mexico...what!...the USA doesn't have any limes????)
...so I won't buy them.
Yes, I know bananas & some items are from other places....but I try to buy local fruit from farms in Florida....
..although of course, greens from California, apples from Pennsyvania are great!..
... bad enough that we have to check produce, but now we have to check our cookies & canned goods too!!!
And don't think your voice doesn't count!!
I started questioning my local Publix supermarket, when, a couple years ago, they identified/stamped their beef and other items as.....made in USA and/or Mexico.
I went to the manager of the store and expressed my disbelief that our huge country couldn't produce beef for our consumption.
I said this rather loudly....and he called in other managers and I repeated what I'd told him.
They gave me some lame excuse.....really lame....
..and I stopped buying their product.
A friend of mine complained as well....and obviously more people started complaining....
Turns out there was a 'law' that finally saw the light of day, and stores had to identify where their products were manufactured.
Who knows how long our store sold the foreign beef before this law came into effect.
The folks trying to pass this law worked diligently .....so that small farms (like the tomato farms in Florida a couple years ago) wouldn't get blamed & lose millions of dollars when their tomatoes were targeted as an outbreak of disease....(when in reality it was Mexico)
This law is the Proof of Origin Law...and my understanding is it took YEARS for the powers to be to recognize & pass it.
Many people worked long & hard for us to know where our items we consume are from.
As far as my local supermarket is concerned......they lost business and folks stopped buying their Mexican beef....
..now the items are stamped ....made in the USA
So buy USA!

One community about 35 miles north of here has been without power since yesterday morning at about 10:30. It’s been very sporadic, depending on the gusts & whether you live in a higher area, etc.
That particular community has just opened a shelter. It’s getting cold.
How was breakfast today? Was the mood upbeat and positive? Was there a heavy sense of foreboding? Tuesday predictions?
OH Jem, thank you. I’m going to give it a try after the elections. Roomey came in and said “Let’s play some golf”, so out of mind went the fig newtons.
I’ve never watched the show. I’ve heard of it, but I cannot imagine anything worthwhile they’d cover. With Hoppi or whatever her name is. But then, the tv I watch during the day, lunchtime, food channel or history or Megan, but she’s always too long. This latest insult will forever seal my not watching these impolite broads.
He is a man without a backbone and has never grown a pair. He trails along behind mcpain gives those simpy grins. I think SC citizens should part company with him and elect a conservative who believes in America and her Ideas.
I’ll bet it’s getting cold. OTOH, we watched the mercury climb to 100 degrees today. Guess it’s Indian summer in S. Texas, it’s supposed to cool off again in a day or so.

Not that old actually, but older than a couple of weeks. I just do not keep track of what I already posted.
If I have already posted my “All fixed up in Iran” rant please let me know somebody. Else, I’ll throw it out there tomorrow around 6 a.m.

If you do post your older rants, can you please update them so that they are relevant to today’s issues??? I think you have a lot to say, it’s just that the stream-of-consciousness form is hard to wade through to try to find your reason for posting...;-))

Good morning, lysie. Very good description of this idiot. I want to scream it at South Carolina at the top of my lungs. I might use a word even more descriptive of this lousy piece of excrement. I hope he is up in 2012, and of course I wish he was up this year.
