Motorists who own the flashy German built cars are more likely to tailgate, flick the finger and speed than anyone else on the road, a poll revealed.
More than half of all drivers said they had suffered a 'bad experience' at the hands of a BMW driver.
Much-maligned white van men came second in the poll, followed by Audi drivers and those who own Fords and Land Rovers.
Other motorists to make the top ten included Vauxhall drivers who were seventh. Drivers of Range Rovers, Volkswagen and Mercedes complete the top ten.
The study of 3,000 motorists also showed 17 per cent of people have had a bad experience with another motorist in the past week.
Lee Griffin, chief operating officer at Gocompare.com, said: ''Traditionally the white van man is stereotyped as a bad driver, but this is no longer the case.
''Although the white van man still features highly on the list, he has been well and truly over taken by BMW drivers - who Brits consider rude, dangerous and bad tempered.

A few years ago, I passed a BMW Z4 with the top down in my modified 500hp 2003 Ford SVTCobra. The look on the beemer driver as the roar of my Borla exhaust competed with the whine of the supercharger was priceless. Even better was the driver on the Hayabusha that passed me right after I scared the crap out of the Z4 driver and gave me a thumbs up.
They must not have Prius cars in England. If you see one of those behind you in the commute lane here in Silicon Valley and you’re doing less than 10 MPH over the posted speed limit, you’d better put on your sunglasses and spray on some sunblock to save yourself from their halogen high-beams.
I’ve driven a BMW in Germany, but refuse to here in the States. I was living in New Jersey at the time (Bergen County), and most of the BMW drivers there were yuppies who liked to weave in traffic and run people off the road.
While driving in Germany, I have seen much more driving courtesies than in New Jersey. That is even with the stereotypical German “lead foot”.
Porsche owners are happy because their cars do not suck.

Such vehicles are commonly painted white in order to facilitate easy sign-writing on the panelled sides. The stereotype represents the drivers of such vehicles as having poor driving skills and / or an aggressive and inconsiderate manner. An amusing, old local variant had BMW drivers headed back to the mothership for the same reason.
Back when Wachovia Bank & Trust was still in it’s historic home, architect César Pelli was commissioned to design a new corporate headquarters, in 1995 or so. He sought to incorporate historic Moravian architectural elements into the building to commemorate the Moravian roots of the bank. “Wachovia” is, after all, the name of the Moravian tract purchased by the Brethren in 1751 for their religious haven, back when this part of NC was a howling wilderness. They walked here from Pennsylvania.
The most well-known of such architectural elements is the Moravian Arch. This he prominently featured atop the building, but rounded the entire thing off. To put it mildly, it needed a finial or something, because it looks like nothing so much as a big white phallus. Militant feminists have long attempted to portray all skyscrapers as phallic, but this one ... well, it is.
Very unfortunate, almost as unfortunate as Baker cutting a deal with the slime at First Union so they could have another fine name to sully, and moving the whole shebang to Charlotte.

I’ve got my old 2002 325CI coupe with a 5 speed. Best car I’ve ever driven. I do most of the maintenance myself and it’s a pleasure to work on too.
... and the punchline is, in Bayern, it is considered a college car...
