I’ve driven a BMW in Germany, but refuse to here in the States. I was living in New Jersey at the time (Bergen County), and most of the BMW drivers there were yuppies who liked to weave in traffic and run people off the road.
While driving in Germany, I have seen much more driving courtesies than in New Jersey. That is even with the stereotypical German “lead foot”.

I drove a 525TD for about a week in SW Germany. It had been the car of one of our company's regional execs, a wagon with leather upholstery, and was about to go back to the leasing company.

Even though I mostly forgot to fire up the glow plugs, it started just fine and behaved quite, shall I say, Otto-like.
