Kitty, if you ever have more problems with satellite than you want to deal with, I would love for you to check into Clear Wire. I NEVER have trouble with my cell phone inside the house, and this works on much the same principle. It's simple to 'install', and no equipment other than a small modem box. And HALF the cost of what I read you mentioned your satellite subscription costs per month!

I just Checked, Dear Billie, and Clear Wire isn't Available in my Area. :(
But I'm So Thankful you were able to Get it, and don't have to Deal with Dial-Up Anymore; that is a Blessing!

There are So Many People Moving into my Area that Hopefully Something will become Available Soon.
I Greatly Dislike my Satellite Service; its Only Value Seems to be that you can Watch Vids,
But you still Usually have to Download them First, because they Buffer like Dial-Up,
But Download Faster than Dial-Up.

Don't be discouraged, Kitty. After my computer guy told me about it, I checked with them, and they also told ME it wasn't available at my address. I called my guy back and told them what they said, and he said that's NOT so! He got on the phone to the one that he had talked to the day before when they both checked and said there are holes all around me without a tower, but my particular address indeed does have coverage. He then had THAT guy call me, and in 2 days I was speeding along the super highway - goodbye dialup! Kitty, it's only $40/month - unlimited - always on, always ready, just like your cell phone.

He told me to feel welcome to refer the service to anyone else, and I'll give you his phone number to call in FR Mail (it's Pacific Time, so it's not local)

They could be right - possibly you DON'T have a tower close enough, but talk to him anyway?
