Good morning to you, jaycee, and thank you. Summer is not my favorite season - it is always so hot here, and my yard is too demanding. I don't LIKE yardwork, but I do like my potted plants, and they burn if not watered every day. :(

We had two huge trees removed a few weeks ago because the bores had been slowly destroying them, and the fescue grass that was so lush couldn't survive in the hot sun, so we've been faced with having to redo large parts of the lawn that were affected by removing the trees. Not a good choice to make, but the lawn can be saved - the trees couldn't.

Summertime

I wish! It is a natural spring on the grounds of the Bonnet Creek resort in Orlando. Here is another View!
I have tropicals in my garden (Bird of paradise, Heliconia, Jasmine, Banana, Begonia, etc) But no Water features, ALAS!

Morning, Amy, thank you! I also loved those little boys and kept trying to find a way to use them - can't remember if you sent that graphic to me or I found it, but however I got it, I love it! Yes, I feel like we can hear their thoughts as they sit there reminiscing about the lazy summer and having to get up every morning and go back to school again!

I'm still finding that some things I relied upon in my photo editing software don't work with Windows 7, and will probably have to wait until PhotoImpact either comes up with a patch, or Windows 7's first Service Pack. But besides those annoying little things, I'm beginning to like many of Windows 7 features. Their file manager, like Vista, is the pits, but that's not something we can change either. I really miss many of XP's features. :(

How pretty! It’s been such a long time since I’ve been on a beach! Have you caught any of Taylor’s “Gulf” commercials? He was also on a special called “The Gulf is Back” Friday night - think it was the CW Network, but is supposed to be on Hallmark Channel sometime.

I have not enjoyed the heat this summer. For about six weeks, I couldn’t sit out at all. But I had to water and some days I didn’t know if I could do it or not.

While you were away, I had a huge pine tree to fall into the main yard and hit my Redbud tree. What a mess we had here! I had made a picture of the Redbud in May. I promised Meg I was going to post the Redbud. Now I do plan to post it soon and also have pictures to post of the huge mess of the falling trees! My 2 dear sons cleaned all that for me on the following Saturday. They worked about 4-5 hours in the hottest sun ever. I kept the bottled water going to them. How lucky I am!

They didn’t want me to pay the deductible on the insurance and then if I should have other trees to fall, the insurance company would raise my rates.

I did my summer ending post....you may have missed it..LOL!
