The grandson of teen-lit queen Judy Blume was arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl at the family's Martha's Vineyard estate, officials said.

Elliot Blume-Pickle, 18, was picked up this week by Tisbury police and charged in the June 25 attack at the family's house there, according to The Martha's Vineyard Times. He pleaded not guilty and posted $5,000 bail.

Every girl who DIDN’T ‘put out’ - as you put it - read the book, too... Those, and worse, from her adult books in the library. ALL the kids knew where ‘those books’ were in my library and mostly we snuck to that section, found the well-worn binding areas and the book literally fell open to “all the best parts”, so to speak.

It’s stupid to blame books for girls making stupid decisions with their lives. If you teach them to respect themselves then no book can ‘ruin’ them...

Most girls who are sexually active as young teenagers have a HORRIBLE relationship with their fathers (if they are even in the picture), truth be told. They seek affections elsewhere - or they have been taught that women only have worth as a sex object... Alternately, the parents may not have properly taught them how to handle themselves in situations where they may feel pressured (like what some guys will say to try to ‘get with them’).

Blaming Judy Blume for teen sex and pregnancy is a lot like those studies in the past that blamed “rock ‘n’ roll” for teen pregnancy because “ALL” of the pregnant girls had listened to “rock ‘n’ roll music” within 24 hours of the conception...

There could be a possibility that the Ds commit rape more than the Rs. BUT - if you add in the Democrat constituency, then the numbers become overwhelmingly in favor of the Ds. (The constituency may or may not vote, but it DOES commit more murders, rapes, robberies and kidnaps by a huge margin.)

A lot of times, the media doesn’t quite get the bail thingy right. While it is possible that the bail for rape could have been 5 thousand dollars, it is also possible that the actual bail is 50 thousand dollars, and the 5 thousand was the the percentage a bail bond company charged to get him out of jail.

Yes, and many will blame books and music for what really (in most cases) is a failure in parenting as well... Much easier to blame books and music than to examine how the adults in these girls’ lives have influenced their perception of themselves, and the world around them.
