25 Horribly Sexist Vintage Ads
by Oral Adams
Since the 50s, a lot has changed in way of womens rights and their duties in and out of the house. I highly doubt any company could get away with phrases like The Chef [mixer] does everything but cook thats what wives are for! nowadays. Or how about an ad agency pitching a company an idea of a wife bent over her husbands knee as he prepares to spank her.

Ahhhh........ The good days.
Oh, there's still a market for that one.
Of course, it’s the reverse now. Every man, and especially every husband or father, is portrayed as an incompetent bumbling idior by the media.
Oh please....we see this same crap all the time, today. Only now it’s the “Superior Female” over the “Dullard Male”.
My wife complains about those all the time.

How many fingers does the woman in the 7th ad have? (She says she broke 14 fingernails.)
Interestingly, there’s somewhat of a trend toward returning to 50’s era kinds of values, where Papa is the real head of household and actually wears his hat as provider and protector, and Mama is in charge of the house, the children, and everything domestic.
I’ve read quite a lot of commentary by women over the last few years where they’ve discussed that very thing. Seems that a lot of women are sick to death of perpetually adolescent men and simps who can’t do their basic job. I don’t think anyone wants to see women be degraded and suppressed in our culture as they once were, but a return to timeless family roles and models is healthy, in my opinion.
Any guy who gets his wife a vacuum cleaner for Christmas is freakin crazy. wow. I was amazed, and if I can say so, a little turned on. It would be nice, it would be a treat to have a wife who is a female and not a 'partner'. aye, but those days are gone. I think this is why so many men marry foreign women.

*sigh* where is Randolph Scott when you need him?
My husband got me the Dyson Supervac for our anniversary. I was thrilled. He knew I wanted a new vacuum cleaner. (Needed, since the old one was past fixing.)
Other times, I'm happy if he brings me a book from the library or a rose from our garden.
To the moon Alice.
POW
To the moon I tell ya.
He was gay.
I got a vacuum once for Mother’s day. It was a Dyson - so it was okay :)
Consider me another one. I’m sick of seeing men bashed all the time.
See my #15.
