Things are changing for corn syrup. Hunt's and Snapple are just 2 of the companies who have decided to listen to consumers' wants and use sugar instead of corn syrup. More and more companies are starting to jump on the no corn syrup band wagon and it is showing up in the use of corn syrup dropping 11% . The use of sugar has risen approx. 7%.

Excellent. I do think it’s out there. As customers demand it, the businesses will listen (or they are stupid).
Oh, and if you really want your throwbacks, you can even join a facebook group. LOL!

We don’t want no steenking corn syrup.
Now they need to wise up about soy.
It is bad for thyroids and is in the top ten food allergies but it seems to be in a lot of foods in one form or another.
I am a label reader, that is why I know it is in so many products. You wouldn’t believe how long it takes us to do our weekly shopping. I just love all of the looks we get by other people. Oh well.
HFCS and Monsanto came to America via a portal from hell.
Monsanto may actually be run by the devil himself.
I really thought Food Inc would be an anti-meat, pro-soy documentary, but the number they did on Monsanto, corn and soy was terrifying.
In Wisconsin the corn people run radio ads that say “Corn syrup is good for you - it’s made from Corn. And that’s natural!”
Talk about irresponsible advertising. I want to produce a “smoking is good for you - tobacco grows on farms ad” to illustrate the absurdity of pitching processed corn fillers and sugars.
Very hard to find pure juice for an affordable price.
Meaning no sugar added, no corn syrup or applejuice blend.
Pineapple juice is 100%.
Grape Juice also.
I am with you about added sugar. Why?
Cheaper than using whole food ing????
I found a snack that does not have Sugar as the main ing.
The are Called Aussie Bites or Something.
Very affordable. Liken it to Oatmeal frut cookies with lotsa seeds/grains.
And definetly I do not buy any food with corn syrup.
I have special needs when it comes to diet.
I caught a program about Monsanto and their using genetically modified seeds that they are using in poor countries and the evils of that according to the documentary.
In any opine on truth to that?
Funny that you bring that up.
Our local grocery store has a whole area dedicated to brands of Mexican Soda (and no we are not high in hispanic population).
As I was looking for pure (no sugar/sweetners) juice I saw a bottle of Cranberry juice for $13.00!
I went with Pinapple frozen concentrate for $1.65.
I keep pure Cherry Juice $4 (at Krogers) $6 elsewhere stocked in the pantry for the now rare event of my uric acids gone wild aka The Gout.
Grape Juice (concentrate) was another affordable pure juice.
I drink cold herb tea and use pure juice as a splash for sweetner. (no artificial sweetners for me, causes appitite increase)
I was using stevia as a sweetner but it is very expensive.
By the way, what were the evils?
The food system we have is not perfect, far from it but it is the best there is.
Agree.
My body just does not tolerate processed foods never has (50 yrs now).
I LOVE Hot Links, kosher dogs ect but if I eat more than that rare event they refuse to digest and react like a stomach flu as so do so many proccessed foods.
Love chips...same as above result.
I detest the stomach flu syndrome prossecced foods cause so I avoid them other than the once a year taste for the cravings.
This built in, intolerance I have is a blessing IMO it may have long term benefits on my health as I age.
I Love microbrews and California wines too but have an intolerance and horrible reactions.
Other adult beverages I have tried in my lifetime have an instant reaction as in I got into tasting Champange years ago and it got to the point with that hobby where as soon as the bubbly hit my stomach it would bounce right back up with a projectile forceful spew.
I know to much information. : 0
The “beef” I have is that corn syrup shows up in EVERYTHING. Ever read the ingredients in bologna?
Corn syrup has become a filler ingredient in the industry. I don’t want it there so I pay more for the few things that don’t use it. Apparently the industry is taking notice of those of us who feel that way.
I’m sure corn syrup will still get wide usage. I just don’t want it in my bratwurst.
When I was little I loved Pepsi.Couldn’t figure out why I had trouble with it as an adult. I felt like I had to burp and wanted to throw up when I had it. Then, Pepsi Throwback came along. It tasted great and I didn’t feel sick after drinking it.
I want your food list...
