The poor dear looks like he needs to rest, he really doesn’t look well. I will be praying for him while he rests. Maybe this defeat was the best thing for his health.

Snarlen Arlen Sphincter was a man with true principles and values.
First he was a demonRAT but couldn't get the RAT party to back him for the Senate, so he switched to the pubbie party.
He served six terms in the Senate, running as a pubbie, voting as a demonRAT.
Last year he realized that Toomey would kick his ass in the pubbie primary, he got a promise from the demonRATs that if he switched and became the 60th vote, that he'd run, "un-opposed" in the demonRAT primary {they lied}.
So, slimey, gooey sphincter got his ass kicked by slimey, gooey sestak.

I now have to go out and find a..a... a... JOB!!!" Not really. His pension would probably keep ten FReepers or more in clover for the rest of their lives.

If I was participating in a Dead Pool for 2010, I sure think that Arlen would be a lock..

He was so arrogant that it never occurred to him that he would really lose. Couldn’t have happened to a more vile politician. Adios, Arlen. Enjoy retirement, loser!

How stupid was he to actually say that he switched parties because thats the only way hed be able to keep his job? Actually that snippet was taken out of context and used in the radio ad by Sleestak. Specter was actually decrying the fact that people were saying that 'I switched parties to keep my job'.
Regardless, good riddence to him. However, I would prefer to be saying that in November, since Sleestak will be much tougher for Toomey to beat than Specter.

“Actually that snippet was taken out of context...”
I never heard any Sestak ads. Way back when Specter switched, I believe I did hear him say precisely that because it was so stupid it got my attention.
In any case, you’re right; it would be better if Specter had won. The crypt keeper would’ve been easier to beat.

I’m not sure if you’re kidding. You do realize that you’re wrong ?
His life is completely without meaning now. Serves him right.

It’s my understanding that Issa is not letting the job offer to Sestak go away. He can be a bulldog as we saw from the recall effort in CA.

I’ve heard Mark Levin mention his first encounter with Specter when Levin was very young — in hish school, I think. IIRC, Mark went to Specter’s office hoping to work or volunteer or something. Red flags went up immediately. By the time Mark got back to his house, Specter had called to offer him a position but he would have nothing to do with it.
