I wouldn’t have even cared about Specter’s age if I thought he actually did something for his constituency. He traded for years on that, “look what I’ve done for you...look at all the jobs I saved/created for you” mantra, and there was a large number of people who actually believed it. The reality was that Specter looked down his nose at the voters who elected him. He even so much as said at one point that he knew what was best for the citizens of PA and didn’t need their input into the major issues. I think that’s when people woke up and finally figured out that Arlen was only looking out for Arlen.

What do you do after a lifetime of looting your fellow citizens. Oh that’s right, he gets a genrouos pension. SO he’ll be looting us for a while longer.

That characterizes most of the Washington politicians who have been elected more than once. They get re-elected and think they are untouchable, unanswerable to the constituents.

You’re right. But most politicians would make every effort to hide their contempt for the people wo elected them. Arlen’s contempt became too obvious and very hard to ignore. The switch in parties, the Michelle Bachmann incident, voting for so-called health care reform when people really didn’t want it — I think all of these things, along with an effective opposing campaign basically pointing out that Arlen only cared about himself — finally did him in.

I’m surprised that there are American flags on the tables. This is from yesterday, isn’t it? Not from when he was still in Republican Party?

Specter, John McCain, Bennett, and a few others need to get together and form their own political party.
They could call it the Grand Old ... uhhhh... nevermind.

I guess hes not going to be the one to crush the Tea Party movement! :-)
He could always run a write in campaign and crush us that way.
